I grew up in Brentwood.

I live in Essex , Romford to be precise , and you've only got to go to Romford on a saturday and MOST of the girls look and sound like that. The slim girl with the cheekbones , she sounds exactly like the Essex girls age range 15-21
Hey, I used to live in Romford, well Rushgreen... many many moons ago...

Is 'Secrets', still there

True. As I've already said, I live and work in Brentwood and I've never met anyone like that in my life. But then I've never been to Sugar Hut, nor wanted to. Give me The Teris Bar and The Gardeners any day over that dump.

Best thing that ever happened to Brentwood was Sugar Hut burning down - shame they reopened the place.
Have to tell you I have loved this exchange You've given me such a great insight into real Essex. I wish someone would commission a prog made by real Essex people about this particular crowd which gives them such a bad name. With your sense of humour and knowledge you'd make a brilliant 'observers'!

I'm guessing the whole thing is a ruse to bag lauren and mark a celebrity-style-paid-for-by-OK-Wedding.

This is the vehicle they need to catapult themselves into the limelight.

The bits that made me laugh we where Mark either had to tell us, or get his friend to ask him, so he could then tell us, how much everything he was buying cost.

What a tool!

I'm from Loughton (went to school with Mark ) and I can safely say if you followed myself & friends around with a camera it would be a very different show! Yeah, Loughton & surrounding areas have people like that in it, but there is so much more to it!!
I watch the show on the basis I can go 'Oh I know that place!' I worked as a saturday girl in the hairdressers shown last night, oh yeah!

The acting is terrible, the girls are fake, the guys are way too up themselves, everything seems so staged, but for some reason I love this show.

Car crash TV. As a media bunny I love it too, although I'm not sure I'd admit that to my colleagues

It wouldn't be as orange, or as fake! Probably not as entertaining!

My hairdresser was asked to be on the show as she is getting married and they wanted to follow her story up til her wedding. Her partner's response was 'not in a million years'!

Tragic isn't he? Pillock! It's also fairly obvious that he is as thick as two short planks. His buddy Arg, on the other hand, is far nicer person - and far better looking I think - even though he's as wet as an October puddle!

Im less anti Mark, having watched the second episode. Him sitting with his gran, eating too much bread pudding, made me smile.

The beautician is now my new irritant. She has the most awful face and will never make it in modelling.

I like Lauren and hope she, isn't playing up for the camera, and is actually moving on from Mark.

Jeez that guy telling Amy she'd be 'super famous'.

This just gets worse and worse. It wouldn't be so bad if they could at least act in the staged scenes, but they can't. Cracks me up.

And the girl band are terrible.

Sam's has now been knocked down to make retirement flats. The Castle is now a club called Eclipse that attacts a young (underage) crowd

Thing is, it's got us all talking, even if it is just to slag it off. Our office buzz word is now 'vajazzle'

They could make an Office style series in my work but it would be bloody boring and far less orange.

And the girl band are terrible.
Though as the former house band at Sugar Hut was Jodie Marsh's brothers band, it's actually an improvement.

Oh well, at least we can laugh about it

Does Nanny Pat have a vajazzle?

I cannot watch it. This is setting Essex back 20 years. Some of the 'characters' will be figures of hate - Mark in particular. Shame.

There are quite a few people like this in Essex, but I don't think anyone watching (well maybe some) would really be silly enough to think all people from a certain area (Essex in this case) are exactly the same.

I have only seen the 'shut up' ad and not watched it, but know the sort having been to Epping forest country club in my youth.

I've started this as there are so many threads on the topic scattered around (i.e. asking general questions etc) that I thought one big official thread where we can discuss gossip/episodes etc here.

The latest episode is tonight and i'm not sure if it's just me but I love Harry (Amy's cousin). 'Shut up'

So not content with the other 972 threads on this programme you decide to start another one? And declare it more important than all the others?

Mods, can we let this programme have it's own forum? Maybe to replace the BB forum? Cause they ain't going to shut up.

Sadly, I remember it when it was the White Hart
- it is a really ancient building.

Of course it's known as the slut hut now
