I thought Flavia's choreographed dance was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.... Just the type of dance and choreography i love to watch. Deffo made a big imact on me.
Best thing about the results show for me tonight. Oh yeh... I was a little skeptical of Peter Andre performing on Strictly but gotta say it was good to see him back on stage doin' what he does, the stylin' and dancing was actually quite good. |

Great, quick show. Len still being tough on certain celebrities and much less on others!

I can see how it might be a shocker to some people, but I think that even if it is 'shocking', it doesn't mean that it's bad. It is innovative and taking strictly into new areas and shaking it up a bit. I personally am glad that we aren't just seeing another same old quickstep or waltz etc etc, it's refreshing to see something so new to the show, and Flavia always does such complex and stunning choreography. I am so happy that she and the guys came up with this dance

Look, it wasn't shocking (other than in parts of its execution)! And it wasn't innovative; it was highly derivative. The moves have been around in modern dance troupes since about the 50's. But it wasn't Tango. It wasn't well done on any level.
I'm not saying everyone that dislikes it is a Len by any means, if people didn't like it they just didn't. There were bits I disliked, but it is a bit different for Strictly, and I certainly preferred it to those showdances (world champions I think) we had on two years in a row which were literally just awkward lifts. |

Was this the Friday version.... or another version recorded on Saturday??
Blimey they mustve been knackered after all that! ![]() I don't know why they're calling it a Tango though. We all discussed what we thought it was and decided it was simply a Show dance and I was with a couple of dancers who would have known if it was meant to be a tango.

We don't all want to end up like Len now do we ![]() For the record, I didn't find it shocking, I just found it messy and it didn't have the 'wow' factor for me - too much dragging Flavia around the floor with the scarves, there was no need for the guys to be barefoot, it just looked strange and no offence to Flavia, but that catsuit was awful. The lifts were good, but I would much rather have seen her choreograph a proper showdance without gimmicks, which we all know she can do fabulously. Does that make me boring? Maybe, but I don't care. Flavia is a brilliant dancer but I didn't like her routine tonight. It was self indulgent. A show case for Flavia which looked awful. The concept was interesting, the execution total pants. Does this mean that whoever choregraphs a pro routine will be the centre of attention and to hell with everyone else? Pro routines are normally more team orientated. Sorry Flavia, you missed the mark for me tonight.
Agree with this,It just looked like Flavia was desperate to get noticed, but for all the wrong reasons. It is a shame as she dosn't need to do this as shes a great dancer and a beautiful lady....can,t believe there will be a 3D version for CIN !

I'm surprised some people think Flavia would be in a see-through outfit.
![]() I thought the hint of bondage was amusing, but like the wires on a previous show, the dragging didn't seem to be capable of working well enough, though they did give it a good try. There was some dancing, which was OK not great. It had an impressive throw and I found it interesting to see something different, so it was much better than Peter Andre, but not as good as the Charleston - and I'm a fan of Flavia, and her choreography. But I can totally understand other people loving it. |

I'm all for modern dance, and I don't think I am like Len, but I don't want to see something I don't find visually pleasing or clever masquerading as something I do find visually pleasing and clever. It wasn't a Tango, it wasn't clever, it wasn't enjoyable to watch, and it didn't belong on Strictly. Just my opinion.

I keep seeing posts suggesting that people who didn't like this routine think it was somehow shocking. I actually just thought it was naff. Just to clarify
![]() I do like about half of Flavia's choreography, I think that at times she does things that are really clever and spectacular. I think maybe she tried too hard to be different with this. |

As a dance I just loved the whole thing and at first I didn't get why it was called Tango Unleashed, as I struggled to spot the Tango bit. Then I thought it must be that Flavia was the Tango and she was being 'unleashed' from doing the dance we've come to expect from her. Anyone get what I mean?

There was a lot of hoo-ha when Vincent and Hanna (world showdance champions or whatever it was) did that dance with him half-naked and her in a leotard that was basically a series of lifts. I didn't like that one and I didn't much care for this weekend's effort either.
That said, one of the points that came out of the above dance was that they'd actually choreographed something with a lot more steps on the floor, but had been told to ramp up the lifts because that's what people wanted to see. Maybe Flavia was told the same thing. I thought it was fairly well done for what it was - the fact I didn't much like what it was wasn't the dance's fault - and it's always nice to see something different. |

![]() ![]() It did remind me of what 30 or 40 years ago used to be called 'Music, Mime and Movement' and used to pass a rainy playtime. Granted, the similarities between us racing round the school hall in dusty plimmies where no one was deliberately hoofed up into the air and Flavia and friends aren't huge but anyone who had had to pretend to be a cloud being buffeted by the wind to Peter and Wolf would have a shiver of memory ... |

On my first watch of the dance I have to say I was very unimpressed ... Len's face was the best bit (followed closely by James and Artem's arms of course!) ... on re-watching however I've really enjoyed the dance as the concept showdance it is, as opposed to the Tango I initially believed it would be ... the dance wouldn't have been out of place in a music video, but was unexpected on SCD ...
... I liked it eventually ... and as ever loved Flying Flav ... but I much prefer for SCD dances (however modern the twist) to contain more actual dancing, if it's billed as a Tango there needs to be at least some Tango! |

Just because some of us didn't like doesn't mean we're stuck in a rut or like Len, there's no law that says we have to like it! I'm a big Flavia fan and I really disliked it, but that doesn't make me like Flavia any less it just means I didn't enjoy this particular dance
For the record, I didn't find it shocking, I just found it messy and it didn't have the 'wow' factor for me - too much dragging Flavia around the floor with the scarves, there was no need for the guys to be barefoot, it just looked strange and no offence to Flavia, but that catsuit was awful. It was announced as a tango 'unleashed', which it really didn't need to be, that's where complaints are coming from I think. Flavia and Vincent did about 10 seconds of tango, but the rest was definitely just a showdance. ![]() Totally agree with you on all you have said. I think that Flavia is a very talented woman and usually a joy to watch, but this particular dance just did not work for me. I wouldn't call myself a fuddy duddy or stuck in a rut either, I, like you, just didn't enjoy this particular dance. I didn't find it shocking at all, just a bit disjointed. Oh, the ony shocking thing for me was, how wardrobe managed to dress such a beautiful woman in such an awful catsuit.

Wait til my fella sees it. He'll be wanting me to cocoon myself in J-cloths while we tug-o-war with the curtain tiebacks. tsk. Fun though

![]() Perhaps it would have been better received by the viewers of SYTYCD. |
