I think people are making too much of it. We have to remember that it is all in the context of Saturday night and the comments that had been made just a short while earlier rather than a whole 24 hours later.
Paul looked ragged tired to me and was put on the spot; not the best circumstances to elicit wit. He ad-libbed, no it wasnt hugely funny but it was not derogatory in the way some are making it out to be.
All this thanking the pro business, gets on my wick anyway. Shouldnt the pros thank the Celebs for raising their profiles outside of the dancing niche? No. Because it is a partnership.
Edit: If partners wish to thank each other on exit, fine. Making it obligatory, which Tess does when she brings it up every week, just takes any sincerity out of the process anyway.
