If you want a conspiracy theory that really sits up and shakes hands, reach for this one.
1. All of a sudden, Nadia is a likeable front runner. Why not before? One word: Marco.
Why were Jason and Victor allowed to get away with discussing nominations for so long? Because they would target Marco, and Macro was now a liability.
Why were they banned from nominating this week? Because they might continue to target Nadia.
(This was obviously a risky strategy, because Nadia was a target before. But if Nadia were voted out, BB could still go with some other HM. However, good research would have shown that Marco was more likely to exit.)
2. Now Becki. Even if she's not working for Big Brother, Big Brother knew what she was like. If she went in, she'd be someone Nadia could talk with, and it was likely that, in one way or another, there would be a conversation about transsexuals that made Nadia look good.
In the end, it worked better than they could have expected. Becki took on the most prejudiced housemates, got Victor at least to moderate his views, and repeatedly made or reinforced points that would reassure Nadia and make viewers think as well.
(Since Becki never had a chance to win, the only reason to pick her was the effects that she would have, and even those who hate Backi and disagree with what she did ought to admit that Nadia's position was improved as a result.)
3. The motive. This year's BB was designed, and the housemates selected, to make it ideal for the tabloids. Of all the housemates, Nadia would be the best winner from the "make the tabloids happy" point of view. (The only problem was, she wasn't very likeable.. That's now been fixed.)
Think about it. Sturat wins? Snore. Shell. Snore, snore. Dan? Too articulate, and probably won't cooperate. Michelle? She doesn't need to win to fit the tabloids' plans. Indeed, it's better if she's a hungrier. Vic, Jay, Ahm - no chance, and the tabloids wouldn't want them anyway.
4. The spin. BBLB's "find Nadia a man" is part. (Remember the one for Shameron last year?) Now watch the editing on C4 and E4. Does Nadia do any work around the house? (For example.) Sure didn't look like it. Cue scenes of Nadia cleaning and other housemates talking about it.
Watch for: A story line. (Nadia doesn't have a good one yet.)
(Am I serious? Well, partly. This makes at least as much sense as most of the conspiracy theories that make their way to on-line forums. And I get to be insufferably smug if Nadia does win.)
