I definitely feel that there's a hint of Craig about Peter - I said this last week after his ITT appearance.

I don't find him annoying (I did Craig) but I get the impression that he thinks he's better than he actually is.

I don't think he is anywhere near as delusional as Craig. He did seem shocked to be in the bottom 2 last week though which was surprising as he was 3rd from bottom so you really would have thought he would have been worried.

I think he is terminally boring and wish he'd just go. Nothing against the man, but listening to him just makes me want to mute the voice and simply not watch.

But then he is a footballer - sorry was - and they've never been that interesting. Not his fault. He is just dull - and a lumpen dancer to boot.

On ITT last night Peter was animated, realistic and positive. Better by a mile than the gushing luvvies like Stephenson et al. I agree with the poster who likened him to Bill Turnbull.
As for wanting to mute him, how precious is that! It seems that the Midlands accent is now getting the same treatment as Alesha's grammar. Why not post a recording of yourself somewhere and let us have a go at you?

I can;t see that at all! Jimi just seemed frustrated with himself and the fact he was probably hearing them say exactly what he knew he must not do..

As for Peter, I actually preferred Craig! He was annoying at times but I loved his spirit and he had something about him that made me feel protective whereas I just find Perer a bit boring, and as Ignazio says, totally lacking in humility.

There was more to Craig somehow. I really hope Peter goes this week.

I agree with tonydancer here .Peter came across to me as a genuiely nice person .He and Erin had a solid partnership .They didnt need any gushy loviness , and false hilarity . They didnt need to be sitting on each others lip and arms around each other .They simply spoke and I liked that
I am all for the show , I love it , but I am getting a little tired of the forced jollity and hilarity .

I posted this on the Gavin & Katya thread but I think it applies to Peter too:

I think you have to consider all the contestants' backgrounds. We're so used to people on (reality) TV being confident, talking to camera and performing.

Most of the celebs are actors who have trained to work in front of cameras for years. Of course they look and sound better than someone who hasn't had this experience, (or if they have, they've only done in for a specific arena).

Of course Peter and Gavin may not have the same depth of verbal or facial expression or relaxation in front of the cameras, they haven't trained for it!

I actually find it refreshing compared to all the actors and listen to them a lot more carefully.

What - as in arrogant & egotistical? Consumed by his own self importance? Really?

Craig was one-of-a-kind awful! No one this year has the potential to be like him (perhaps Paul would have had he stayed)

Peter's an amiable guy. And he's working hard. And he's improved a bit.

And I try to remain interested when he speaks, but I can't help but be bored rigid. He just keeps trotting out the same line about getting better. I wish his responses could be a bit more varied.

I would say that sportsman are not known for their sparkling conversations but Dawes, Goughie, Austin and Kenny Logan weren't boring to listen to. The midlands accent is not the most interesting and I went to uni in Leicester so I have a reasonable amount of affection for the area - it is sadly a flat, dreary accent.

I like Peter actually - he seems like a lovely guy, he responds to critism by coming back and trying harder and 'giving it plenty'. He may not be quite as good as he thinks he is but he doesn't think he's the best in the competition. That said Craig Kelly didn't irritate me that much either, Rav and Joe Calzalge seemed to have similar delusions about their abilities and although Criag seemed to drive Flavia up the wall - and their interviews were often hilarious because he was on a different planet to her - at least he never treated her with the rudeness that Rav did Ailona after they were kicked out. I'm so glad that Ailona has Matt his year who unlike Rav is both a good dancer and a gentleman.

My wish to mute him has nothing whatever to do with his accent - I wasn't even aware of it - but more to do with his being terminally boring.

And as for my voice, well - hate to disappoint you td - but I am famous for it, in rather good way It earns me money!

Yes, that's it Sid. It's the endless football cliches and same old hackneyed remarks He's just not got a great deal of personality or spark. Even a sense of humour would be nice

He only got kept in as long as he did because of his "get me to Blackpool" campaign, though I still can't see how he appealed to anyone enough for them to care because he had all the charisma of a wet mop and I don't think he knew the meaning of the word humility.

It was completely embarrassing.

It's truly amazing how some people can be so unaware of themselves.

I would agree that there is definately a hint of thinking he is a lot better than he really is with Peter , but that could also be said for Michelle as well, she too is amazed by the judges critisism

I like Peter a heck of a lot more than Craig.......Peter is just trying his best........Craig thought he was already doing his best and didnt need to improve.........there was also something creepy about him

I like Peter, but my God I'm sick of hearing about his football career.
