Can't find any mention of this but did anyone else hear Ann cutting Tess down to size on Saturday's show?

I thought it was hilarious & Princess Tess didn't know where to put herself!!! Tess was blilthering on about last week's 1 from Craig & Ann said something along the lines of "oh dear you do go on don't you?" Very funny

I thought it was Tess telling Anton he does go on? I'm sure that was said anyway. But you may be right - they were all talking at the same time.

Yeah - I heard Ann. I thought it was about time. Even though I have a lot of time for 'R' Tess, the faux Northern accent and constant inane gurning, simpering and mugging is starting to do my head in.

She's in danger of starting to believe her own publicity.

... Oh and while I'm here. Can Claudia stop trying to be Davina...

I'm waiting for Ann's response to Alesha's weekly 'You was better...." line

Tess' northern accent isn't false; she is actually a northerner.

ummm.... so am I.

I can spot a forced accent a mile off. 'Working class chic' I think they call it.

Do you really think she is? I think Claudia is the same as she's always been. I've watched her present since she was on pyjama party and she's always been a crazy lady! (in a good way) lol

Actually - you're probably correct. I have no knowledge of Claudia before ITT, so perhaps it's Davina trying to be like Claudia. All I know is that Davina is as irritating as a yeast infection and I like Claudia and don't want to be annoyed by her.

I think Ann is very good for the show.... there's plenty of good dancers and her retorts after her performance are golden!

I think the accent's real (as an honorary Northerner, I know how hard it is to fake the accent correctly), but she does play it up in an 'ooh, flat caps and whippets' way that grates a little.

It is getting a bit 'Daphne' from Frazier. I work in the South and even though I do not try and hide my accent, I won't force it like Tess (and other professional Northerners) do.

I do say "Eh oop," though. And eat the occasional pie.

I thought it was a bit rude of Ann really. Tess is just doing her job. I felt sorry for her.

I think that especially Lancastrians can vary their accent depending on how much "cliche Northern" is required. The absolute mistress of this is Jane Horrocks. So if Tess let's it roll, good for her; at least she can.

I consider Lancashire to be on the wrong side on the Pennines.

Indeed. Big up the White Rose all the way (and I say that as someone who lives with the child of Boltonian parents. They're so Bolton, in fact, that Mr LL's auntie owned the club where they filmed Phoenix Nights )

I did too. It wasn't funny and it wasn't necessary. Woe betide her when the better dancers are going at the expense of keeping her in for 'entertainment'. Her retorts will not be taken so light-heartedly methinks.

I thought so too but then Tess is rude in that she (and Bruce) STILL mispronounce Ola's name

Please listen again to what was actually said.

Tess is reminding Ann & Anton that Craig only gave them one mark the previous week and it is actually Anton who first says to Tess that she does go on about the past - twice in fact - before the joke is picked up by Ann.

It was part of the banter - that's all.

Go Ann

I like a women to have a mind not just sit there smiling and Tess does go on lol

It was very funny - the banter with Tess.

Ann- " We want to be back next week - we've got something so spectacular that even I'm surprised "

Anton- " I can't wait until she shows me what it is, I can't wait."

It's nice seeing all the others stood in Tess's tower, like Erin, Vincent and Kara laughing their heads off. Although I agree with Venetian that we are going to lose some better dancers because of her and that's really unfair, she and Anton have brought some laughs to the show and they are a great partnership.

Jane is a lovely lady and her accent is very very strong in her everyday life. I would suggest any variation you hear on TV etc is perhaps her trying to tone it down!

Thank you. I knew there was something no-one else was mentioning here!

Anton then 'goes on' talking over Tess who is trying to do her scripted, after all, lines. As someone said, Tess doesn't do spontaneous. I love Anton but he does go on himself.

I really like the banter in Tess's area this year and I love the way the other couples clap the dancing pair up the stairs, and then surround them when they are with Tess - it makes for a great atmosphere! Actually I think Tess is doing a much better job than usual this year, especially when the timing has been very tight for each live show. Just as when she stood in for Brucie last year when he was ill, going by the two results shows I think she has shown she could step into his role when he retires - with Claudia too of course!
