As a non ballroom or latin (proper, as Len says - been doing salsa for years) dancer, it would depend on the routine. But, and a big but, all quicksteps had elements of charleston in them. But I can't see a happy week for Scott or Patsy. Sad as I love the former so much more than Matt and Kara, but I suspect those two will do well. I'd love Scott to beat them, and I think it goes without saying that my fave will (hopefully) be top of the Tango (Pamela) but we'll see. I suspect ballroom will score higher than "latin" this week.

Am removing the ones in bold above as it has not been confirmed yet - just supposition. And you forgot Jimi and Flavia

As to the acting question, I'd say which dance is harder to act depends on the celeb. Anyone remember Don Warrington? He did a fantastic tango, it was his best dance by far, but something tells me the mucking around of the Charleston wouldn't suit him nearly as well. Rachel Stevens also did better at the moodier dances. This year I suspect Gavin will be happier trying to be moody and masculine than silly and cartoon-ish. Peter would probably also have been happier to be in hold again.

Its not usually me who starts them but I couldnt find one in amongst the usual list and it was about time!

The Tango is ballroom

The Charleston kind of has elements of both.

Jimi & Flavia almost certainly Charleston judging by the shoes Flavia is wearing in a picture Jimi tweeted of her in rehearsals earlier.

I was just coming here to say that.
But until confirmed for definite will leave them as unconfirmed. Also doubt Jimi would have been able to tire Flav out to such an extent she had to have a power nap if they were only doing tango.

I think the previous poster mean that due to M&A having done 2 ballrooms in a row previously (Foxtrot and Quickstep) he would be doing Charleston and also from his and Aliona's tweets so far this week I think things point towards them doing Charleston too.

I will look forward to this one as Jimi will suit it i think, at the same time i am glad Gavin has the Tango as he won't suit the Charleston imo, he could still get it if he's around long enough though



Do we know yet if they've dropped one of the latin dances in favour of the Charleston?

I think the rest of them are all doing Charleston as we now have 6 "definite" tangos.

Apparently, there is no sign of Jive coming up as one of the dances, so they could well have dropped that one.

The Jive wasn't until week 5 last year and I hope they don't drop it.

Quite a weeks for sorting the wheat from the chaff.

Tango and Charleston - two dances which can be soaring successes or dismal flops.

I think the leading pack of top four have proved to be pretty consistent so I think we can expect more greatness from them but yeah I think it'll be interesting to see what the other eight come out with.

It's those dancers that interest me. The ones who struggle and seem to be getting nowhere who suddenly have an "epiphany" and clue in to what dancing is. They often come to life and surprise us.
