As T mobile and Orange are on 1800Mhz and O2/Vodaphone are on 900Mhz how does your phone work efficiently on both bands?

The antenna has to be the right length for the wavelength (this is especially true when transmitting)......so, are there 2 antennas?

A full wave lenght antenna for 900Mhz is 33cm on 1800Mhz its 16cm. It is likely that the antenna will be 8cm which is a quarter wave on 900Mhz and a half wave on 1800Mhz. Therfore a single antenna will be resonant on both bands.

The T230 is a dual band 900Mhz and 1800Mhz phone. O2 has roaming agreements with many networks over there - Vodafone, T-Mobile and Telfort. The phone should be able to register on all of them.

So I think you should have no problem at all. The phone should automatically try and select a network. And the charges should be the same regardless of which foreign network you are roaming on - £0.99 to UK landlines/O2, £1.49 XNet, £0.49/txt.

Thanx for the info. Dose it cost you to receive a text or a call while in Holland or any other part of Europe.
