So sorry Bolaade I am blaming Moley moley for making me so tired its totally ridiculous, I thought my late nights were over when BB ended but the guy is so addictived. Just love his accent why he is not on the TV is a complete puzzle. I mean he never bores so down to earth.

I got curious as to why the traffic in this thread had slowed down so much - long-time Moleholers might remember I was so proud this was the busiest thread devoted to a single housemate - so I've done some investigating.

It turns out Twitter has a LOT to answer for as this thread is now dominated by those who Mario follows over there. 13 people, to be exact. When I did our congratulations message for Garry's blog I had 30 names and I chose them very carefully, so we've lost some dedicated supporters from this thread.

Obviously I can't speak for their reasons for leaving. I myself have slacked off a lot because I've got a load of personal crap going on in my real life and I can only cope with this when I'm going through a good phase. But, unlike the board, the stats don't lie and (with some notable exceptions) there's a big connection between being followed by Mario and staying on this thread.

Sadly it's become a 2-tier group. No offence at all to those in the Premier League, well done you. But it's pretty disheartening when you realise that, despite all your efforts, you've been relegated to the 2nd division!

It feels like no Twitter = No Mario. Not everyone wants to use Twitter or wants to pester Mario. Some of us have zero interest in drunken Twitcams. Some of us would rather just point towards the Twitter button down there on the left and let certain people use their planet-sized IQs to check them out and decide for themselves whether we're worth following. Or maybe some of us could prove too challenging for him... *Ahem*

Of course there's a very easy cure for this and that would be for Mario to slow down on his newly-acquired Twitter addiction and spend a few minutes a week in here. Not swooping down once every blue moon and proclaiming from on high, but mucking in with the rest of us, responding to a few posts and just joining in with the banter like he does on Twitter.

Everyone in here played a big part in supporting Mario through BB and we all deserve an equal chance of interacting with him in whichever way we feel comfortable with. It's not like the BB vote lines had a Twitter User's Surcharge!

Perhaps our Premier League should go and do a bit of persuading on behalf of the rest of us.

Some people on this forum are generally insulting to mario and all bb contestants, maybe twitter is a more comfortable place for mario, he very rarely gets negative comments there and he isn't censored there either, here he can be insulted but not be allowed to retaliate. Which seems unfair

He could reply to the insults if he wants to, as he's as much a DS FM as you or I. He did an excellent put-down of the person who insulted him on the Southend website so he's got the brains to handle the certain stirrers if he thought they were worth his time. I guess he'd just rather not fuel the fire. He's already told us he wants us to ignore the baiting and, by and large, it's worked.

Anyway he'd be amongst friends in this thread. No worms allowed in the Molehole, no matter how fat and juicy they are!

Some interesting points Val, and I have to say that generally I agree. Having said that how any ex housemate responds or doesn't to thier fan base in entirely up to them and if Mario feels more comfortable on twitter, then he's really under no obligation to go anywhere else. I guess that the onus is up to the rest of us to go there. It's also his choice who he follows, I presume that he makes that decisions the same way that the rest of us do, he picks the most interesting people. Or maybe he has other criteria, I don't know, again that's up to him.

Groups and fan bases often splinter after a while, it's just the way of the Internet I suppose. Some members will want more direct contact whereas others prefer to stay in the background following from afar. I'm not a massive fan of twit cams either myself as with someone with so many followers like Mario they mostly attract a great deal of the 'follow me please!!' crowd (glory-hunters- I think someone called them) and that gets in the way of the really fun interaction so much that it's irritating. It's like a press conference with hundreds of journalists grandstanding to attract attention, it's not going to work well.

One Of the things which I really like about twitter is that it has allowed me to follow people who seem interesting and seeing where that leads. I particularly like art, architecture, politics , comedy and writers and have seen many things which I wouldn't normally have, so my twitter habit isn't confined to BB. For instance, I like following you because of dry wit and your artistic bent.

I do find with Mario in twitter at the moment that mostly when people talk to him it's all about him. That's not his fault because clearly that's what people want to engage him on but as time goes on I imagine that it will evolve to include a more rounded experience for him.

Lastly, as you said Val I have seen some those in Mario's inner circle ask for him to come here and they often ask for him to mention the molehole. So there is definitely still a lot of love for the molehole (oo-er I got a Dave like there ). I try and drop in here myself at least once a day, but as I said earlier I do miss the busier times, and I haven't quite fi=found an interest yet to match this. I empathise with your personal issues, I am having a few myself, it does rather seem to be a theme here doesn't it? Anyway, hoping that you sort things soon. And ironically Val you many well have jump started the thread , so c'mon moleys, what are your thoughts?


Actually there are pretty strict rules on what can and can't be said on an AT, even about other housemates. Nobody could get away with insulting him here and it's unfair to suggest that they could. Mario may well be more comfortable on twitter, but I've 'chatted' with several ex housemates only recently on the main forum, so I think that suggesting that twitter is somehow safer for them is misleading. IMO there are far more vicious people insulting them on twitter than there ever would be allowed here precisely because if that moderation.

Thanks vald, I'm not sure that there's a division like in Animal Farm (FYI reading George Orwell always scares me- he seemed to get right inside the bleak human mind) but yeah, I can certainly see where you're coming from.

I don't think that there's anything wrong with debate even on an AT, on the whole forums are all about differences of opinion, it's good. I have a feeling that this one will either revive the thread... or kill in stone dead (hope not )

What really makes me sad, is that some people may feel that they have become second row viewers when it comes to Mario, because I think nobody wants that, especially Mario himself.

Regarding him following People on Twitter. He has several times mentioned, that he will follow everyone from the molehole, all that is needed, is telling him your username and he will add you
If he does not immediately, it's not because he does not want it, it's just because that tweet may have got lost within the other ones that day.

I was talking about Digital Spy, whenever mario posts in here on the main forum and in other AT threads loads of nasty comments are posted by people wanting his attention but with the knowlage he can't tell them to f.off

Well I also wanted to say that people should not be shy on Twitter to write him, because they don't want to bother him, as he is really cool about it and answers almost everyone (especially his holeholers) if he has the time.

Mario prefers Twitter, because it is easier and quicker to use for him. I don't think it is up to us tell him where to go (Nevertheless we will remind him to visit this place more often)
It is nobodys fault that not everyone likes to use Twitter/Twitcam or FB as much as Mario, or his "close ones" as you call them.
I personally have to say, that I was actually a FB hater before, but joined because of Mario, and I am ok with it now, as I keep it mainly for my molehole friends, and I don't put to much personal stuff on it anyway.
Same with Twitter, I was never a friend of it, but I have to admit that I have become quite a Twitter "whore" by now

So to keep it short, Mario is more than happy to talk to any of us, he has no special friends, it may only come across like that, because not more people dare to just jump in and talk...

Sorry to hear about your catsitter. I can't leave my cat except with family and even then I worry lol.

I've been reading the views on how people feel about Twitter and coming on here. Personally, I love both and while I spend a lot more time on twitter I also post every day on here and aim to continue doing so.

The AT is great for talking in more depth, whereas Twitter gives you instant responses easy/chat to several people, including Mario, which is nice. For instance it's fun when several of us are watching say X-Factor and we can just quickly toss out our opinions to each other.

I also love the twitcams because you can see someone in the flesh and feel like you are really interacting with them. Wish tweets didn't disappear into oblivion so quickly, particularly when interesting questions from people get buried amongst the more banal, but it just takes a bit of persistence and you can usually get at least one question replied to.

I just feel really, really lucky that the hm I liked, Mario, is so giving to his fans and I've found out lots of interesting and funny things about him through Twitter.

Let's hope both forms of communication continue for a long, long time.

I respect all that has been said and certainly don't want to be dramatic, but the whole point is whether the Thread can be kept going, not about moving across to twitter. This Thread was a big part of our BB experience but maybe it's day has over.?

Hmm I think, as I said earlier, that this is possibly true. It's sad but but that's just the way of the Internet and unless an ex housemate was and is wildly popular then forums and threads like this do tend to diminish with time. I think that it's possibly happened even quicker this year because there is no BB next year to anticipate. As someone who has been here for so long I am sad about that and I am going to miss it.

I've never said anything about leagues of fan-ship and TBH even if I did think that way and was in the Sunday league it wouldn't bother me, I don't feel in any way restricted in doing what I want.

Also personally I don't have an issue with twitter, although I can see what people mean about it detracting from here. I think that it does, but again if people prefer it there ain't a lot that you can do about it, and anyway I enjoy it as an entity on it's own merit so I can't be too critical.

Now on topic. I believe that Mario said that he and Corin were 'starring' as he put in a video being filmed tomorrow. I think that it's this one

Like you, I've watched both BB and X-Factor from series one. Isn't it interesting to watch an early BB then contrast it with the latest series?

Which BB series are your favourites?

For me it's seires 3, loved the Rich/Poor divide and Alex Sibley and BB11. Obviously, my main reason for loving BB11 is Mario, the star of the show lol, but also because it seemed more akin to the earlier series with less of the page 3 wanabe airhead types.

This year, they actually seemed quite intelligent on the whole

The tasks were better than in recent years and I think there was a great mix of very different personalities.

My main criticism would be BB yet again making the mistake of focusing too much on certain stories which did lead to hms not involved in said story being far too sidelined.

And biased editing yet again reared its head but as Mario himself has said while doing some editing this week, it's very hard to do so perhaps I can understand a little bit that you can never please everyone and with hindsight they would have included more/less of what gets into the final show lol.

The save/replace was an interesting addition this year. It worked against Mario at times but also worked for him at times. Did you like it? It certainly made for a couple of very exciting afternoons while we followed Mario's progress as an insect and in the memory task.

I hope everything has been going well with you guys. I've been reading some of the comments on here and Im sorry I haven't been as active in here as I am on Twitter. I want to assure you that there is no favouritism or Animal farm scenario going on. Im definitely no Napoleon lol I think I do find Twitter easier but I dont want anyone of you to think I have abandoned or forgotten about you. Im bad at long messages (ask my mum, she always has to pester me to get an email!) and Twitter allows me to 'micro blab' which is better suited to my short attention span. You'll enjoy this story. Friday night my friend and I went o the Odeon to see Paranormal Activity 2. Normally i always book online so i dont have to queue but my friend said his mate would get us free tickets so i said fine. Well we get there and of course, my friend's mate is no where to be seen so we have to queue for the tickets. That's when the problems began. Being stuck in the queue with the age range that see horror movies, they all recognised me and started mobbing me in mass and more and more people were coming into the Odeon just to try and get a photo with me. it got to the point that we had to leave as we were deemed a 'health and safety' hazard so I didn't even get to see the movie! I might try and go see it tonight but Im damn well pre-booking my tickets this time!

Tomorrow Corin and I are taking part in a music video for Nina C for Steve's Charity. Im playing the role of the Boss and apparently Im going to be filmed telling everyone off and throwing diva strops (It wont be too hard I'm sure lol)

Apart from that Corin and i are also working on a project together but I cant reveal too much about it as it's still in production and we've been told to keep it quiet (so really I shouldn't have said anything in the first place but never mind)

Im still working on my fashion designs. The designs and collection is just about ready to go into manufacturing stage but i cant get that totally going until i sign with a sponsor to help fund the collection and pieces.

Apart from that I've just been wondering what to wear for Halloween next week. I was thinking of going as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle/ what do you think?

Anyways, I will work hard to make sure I remain active in here as I think this place as special and i wouldn't want it to come to an end as you guys really created something special.
