Uh-oh! I seem to have helped liven up a boring Sunday! I think Parrotgate must have got a load of crap out of my system, it feels good to say the unsayable sometimes!
So here am I, pouring out all my thoughts in reply and LOOK who drops in! Rubbish timing Mario!*

Oh well, I'm not wasting what I've written and I don't want anyone to misunderstand me, so here she goes again...
Obviously it's TOTALLY up to Mario what he does with his time and where he feels comfortable. When I said that Twitter has a lot to answer for, it's simply that the facts speak for themselves. The people who stayed most loyal to this thread, especially during the slow-down in part 6,
tended to be the ones Mario follows. The people who were big supporters during BB but now don't bother with this thread so much
tended to be the ones he doesn't. I don't really want to apportion blame through this fact and I'm sorry if it came across as though I did.
The people who've dropped out could have done so for any number of reasons, nothing to do with Twitter. I've been reading DS for several years and I know how sharply traffic drops when the show's off air. So some natural wastage is to be expected.
Goo_goo_4_gaga's original point was about the news and banter between the regulars dropping off in here. Maybe my reply came across too much like we should be able to talk more to Mario, that's not really what I meant, sorry.
As I said, not everyone likes Twitter and I'd add that not all Twitter fans use it in the same way. I'm not much of a chatterer on there. I very rarely start conversations and only really get dragged into them by other people! I've never had a conversation with Mario and I don't see myself ever feeling the need to have one.
Despite my teasing, I really couldn't give a stuff whether he follows me or not! I most certainly would never ask him to follow me because I would never ask ANYONE to follow me. It's not my style. It's not like I want him on my list as some sort of badge of honour. If he doesn't know me from here then I'm just one of the thousands of random nobodies. So be it. If he wants me badly enough (and for the right reasons) he'll find me. If he doesn't, meh, I won't lose any sleep over it.
When I mentioned him spending more time on here, it was just one idea of how he could reach out to more people. Obviously we've been incredibly lucky to have him visit at all, it's a heck of a lot more than most other ATs get. I guess my train of thought was that if Garry & co are spending most of their time on Twitter because it's where Mario hangs out, then maybe Mario could follow them over here from time to time and they could bring some of that banter with them. Garry in particular was the heart and soul of this thread, it's really not the same without him! (Oops, no offence to the rest of you.)
(ETA: Obviously I typed this before I saw Mario had visited. I'm not bloody changing it now. TV Burp's on in a bit.)
So Twitter's not for everyone, heck even DS isn't for everyone and let's not forget other BB forums are available. Not everyone wants to talk to Mario, they just want to know what he's up to. No rights or wrongs in all that. Horses (pantomime or real) for courses.
I suppose what I'm wittering on about is that if he could curb his self-confessed Twitter addiction just a
little and spread himself out a bit - whether on here, other forums, that Facebook fan page he talked about, trained carrier pigeons or his own website - then everyone could get as much or as little as they want from the experience. Some will just want a bit of news, others will want to look at his designs or read his musings on life and a few will want to get more up-close and personal. I've come to the conclusion I'm in the 2nd category and I'm cool with that.

Aww, shucks, you're very kind.

I love our X Factor commentaries! Ever since Jedward I've refused to take the programme seriously so I just let rip.
(*And by rubbish timing I mean hello, nice to see you, thanks for dropping by, obviously.
