Your opinion and you are entitled to it. So what if he put an extra bit in, it's entertainment mate.

I'm sure she is, but for me she's going about it the wrong way. I feel as though she's showcasing her own choreography rather than trying to use her choreography to showcase Matt.

The Quickstep was an improvement on the previous two routines, but even so I felt it was too much. Scott and Natalie were so much more enjoyable with a less frenetic routine. I'm not a fan of Scott's at all, and I've been fairly neutral on Natalie up to now, but she really knows what she's doing choreographically. That was the only routine I really wanted to watch again- watching Matt, I could see he was doing an awful lot technically, but once it was over I'd pretty much forgotten everything about it apart from the frantic feeling it had. And that certainly didn't make me want to watch it again!

She seems to be more concerned about showcasing herself & her choreography skills than helping Matt to be the best he can.

Aliona's great, she's pushing the boundaries and maybe it doesn't always work, but she's got a real spark about her which I like. I'm really pleased she's been paired with Matt as it will give people a chance to warm to her. Look how people have taken to the Jordans in recent series.

Glad someone agrees with me.

Hmmm...I'm a big fan of Camilla's but it doesn't make me see everyone else with a jaundiced eye, Tall Paul

Anyway, as far as Aliona goes, I haven't seen enough of her work to form much of an opinion either way, but if it's any comfort she's not at the bottom of my pro dancers appreciation list so far this year

It may give people a chance to warm to her , but it may get Matt eliminated too soon if she persists in acrobatics etc in inappropriate places .

IMHO Matt has the most potential of all of them this year , she needs to showcase that and push him without throwing his gymnastic ability in at every opportunity and without straying too far from the actual dance as it should be performed .
I really did not like the end of the foxtrot ; it's a romantic , carefree, beautiful dance , It's not a tango . I felt the same about Scott's waltz ,;not for me .

I saw Aliona on the pro tour and she was excellent , but so far I am not completely sold on her choreography

BTW I think Lilia has done wonders with most of her partners , But I have never liked Camilla's self serving choreography ; when she choreographed to her partner's strengths , she won .

I wish I cared enough to argue the toss about this...but I don't, so I won't...

G'night

Ok Mate

Just one word of advice - If you are thinking about starting another similar thread in the future bear in mind that it will always end in the same general argument involving several, if not all, of the pro's both past and present and that the same protagonists will pop up and exchange the same points of view, and each person's opinion won't have moved an inch by the time the argument has (temporarily) fizzled out

Stu, I'm sure if you and I argue about Camilla for long enough, one of us will change our mind

It certainly was a complicated foxtrot and my opinion of Matt has risen. I must watch it again but he did some fascinating complex steps at one point, I don't think I've ever seen done by a celeb in a foxtrot.

Katie! I could argue with you forever and not lose my sense of humour I only wish I had a bunch of flowers to hand

Anyway, maybe we could play each other's role this time as we both know what we're going to say, how we're going to refute each other's points and what our opinion will be at the conclusion?

Or maybe we can just take it as read to save our typing fingers from wearing out...

I actully relly want to like Aliona (I can even look past the awful hair) but then she ruins it with crazy choreography and irritates me

I don't mind Aliona and Matt either way but come on now, their Quickstep was hardly as crazy or as 'modern' as Artem and Karas?

I understand some of the pros want their celeb to stand out and for that reason will experiment with the choreography - but I'm finding some of the ballroom dances just too frantic.

Traditional for me.

I'm not even sure it's about traditional versus contemporary. But something about Aliona's choreography just isn't clicking.

Her and Matt's routine's don't flow naturally like some of the others. I feel like I'm watching lots of different sections that haven't been woven together seamlessly like they should be.

Well I like Aliona and Matt. I think she has done well with him and I really enjoy their routines.

However Paul I have to say in all fairness you do not like people dissing Aliona but you have dissed Natalie a lot on threads against her. As a Natalie fan its not nice to read some of the remaraks made against her.
I do enjoy discussions on the dancers etc but why it has to get so nasty etc I will never know.

I think that is the most accurate and truthful comment so far.

Not that I rate Matt at all, mind you, but I would still want to show off my pupil and not myself!

Well, that's just too bad. You will have to live with it. It's an open forum and people are at liberty to make up their own minds.

Just my opinion thats all. Take it back about Natalie but Maliona are still my favourite team. Guess I'm just obsessive about them lol.

I forgot to add Carol that I apologise for if I have unintentionally said stuff about Natalie, would like to wipe the slate clean and move on.
