Standby for Tina
Tall Paul

Who agrees with me if Tina has to pull out they should replace her with a standby celebrity?

No - there's a contingency plan in place for a reason. If she pulls out it just means there won't have to be a semi-final double elimination.

A stand-by celeb wouldn't have a hope of being popular with the public- they'd be 6 weeks behind everyone else in terms of publicity, not to mention everyone would simply wonder why they weren't considered good enough for the show in the first place. Not to mention that I doubt any celeb would accept a stand by place and do all the training with no guarantee of being in the public eye.

You would need a secret celeb hidden away, like on I'm a Celeb, practicing the routines. Don't think they would be accepted by the public.

I agree but don't think it will happen tbh, they'd have a bit if a disadvantage aswell though.

I wonder if she will be offered a place on the tour to compensate for losing out on the series - that's IF she isn't well enough to dance this week.
Chances are slim though - it takes longer than that to stop being infectious.
Maybe she wouldn't sign up for the tour either since she has a toddler.

I agree there won't be a replacement celeb though.

The rules are on the BBC website. If Tina misses two weeks in a row, she is removed from the line-up.

To coin a phrase, simples.

So she's allowed 2 weeks. How come Tess or Claudia said one week.

Because it is one week. If she won't be able to dance next saturday, it will be the second time she's missed out and therefore automatically eliminated.

She's allowed a bye through one week, but technically she's got nearly 2 weeks to recover because she won't be officially withdrawn unless she doesn't take to the dancefloor and complete a routine this Saturday. So she could still do a Patsy and compete on only a couple of hours' training if she's feeling better by Thursday.

It was earlier in the competition on DOI, though.

What I meant was that because it was earlier in the series, the viewers were less invested in their favourites and so I think were more willing to warm to someone new coming in. It would probably be too late for someone coming in now to build up a Strictly fanbase.

Well I cant believe I have ventured onto Twitter, but her latest "tweet"(is that the expression?), is that she starts training tomorrow and that hopes she will be good to go on Saturday. Apart from that apparently she is wearing socks on her hands.

That's really good news but I hope she doesn't overdo it.

The contingency plan is if there are 5 couples left by the semi , then 2 couples will be eliminated at that stage .Only 3 couples will be in the final and it looks as though they are determined to have 3 not 2 .
