Excellent quality pics. I wonder are they pics taken from a tv set or by a photographer there on the night?

The BBC has several photographers there on the night - one usually takes the dress run images and another the live show.

But to answer the question about photographs over stills of the footage - they have at least two photographers there, taking photographs, which are what you see in my link.

That's why it can take a while for the images to come out - there are a lot of images and a lot of editing to be done before they can be released to the media. Having two photographers makes that job slightly more do-able, considering that everyone wants the images straight away.

I think it's just part of the show in the beginning - and later on when they are all fit and toned it becomes less of an issue.
