If you then press say GUIDE do you see anything?
If not then it's possibly a HDMI signalling mismatch between the Humax and the TV. Try setting the TV to the HDMI input. |

Try
1 turning the TV to a different input and back to the hdmi one. or 2 cycling through the vformat options using the hdr remote |

mine does this sometimes too. (mine goes through a sony amp which acts as a hdmi switch and then into a panny tv, which is know to have issues with the HDR).
my way around it is to have HDCP default set to disable in the menu. this seems to get round the problem most of the time, but now and again when it happens stll, and the way round seems to be, find the channel you are recording (if it doesnt work, turn your tv off and on again). hope this helps. nev |

Kryton123 if you post on here the model number of your PanasonicTV we could have a look for the manual on-line and give you a more detailed answer to you problem. By the way in my post number 23 I suggested taking the HDMI lead and plugging into the HDMI 2 port on the panasonic. This will over come the handshake issue you are experiencing.

I find scrolling through the HDMI inputs sorts the problem. Aux button (i think) on the remote then select to different HDMI inputs and back to HDMI 1 to get it working

Thanks ![]() Also don't get this confused with the 'TV' button as this just selects from the internal freesat tuner, the DVB tuner, the anologue tuner and the other satellite output. |

UPDATE
Unit always comes on now (after removing the film!) but it will not come on if it's recording. The only thing I can do is to switch it off at the plug and re-start then it comes on every time. I would have thought there should be a software fix by now? |

I have a Panasonic 42" Plasma, connected to the Humax HDR via the HDMI 1 input, and this happens to me. I switch the TV off and on and all's good again! Presume it's a handshaking problem, but I prefer to keep it on HDMI 1 as the Humax gets the most use. HDMI 2 doesn't have any auto switching.

If the HDR is recording and you turn on the Panny, there will be no picture. Press power button on the HDR remote then press the top right button on the Panny remote and press it again and again until it goes all the way back to HDMI1, the picture will appear. job done
My picture is already on HDMI1? Do I need to alter anything after the above to bring it back to standard setting? Thank you

My Panasonic is setup so that the FOXSAT-HDR uses HDMI 2 and the HDR-FOX T2 uses HDMI 3. I have had no problems with either box whether or not they are on, in standby or recording in standby when the TV is switched on (and changed to HDMI 2 or 3). I very occassionally get a blank/green screen for a couple of seconds when switching inputs.
I did find that when they were connected to HDMI 1 that the Panasonic would automatically switch over to the HDMI 1 input when the boxes were switched on or a recording began with the box in standby (which obviously interrupted my viewing). |

Can I ask a question about the Humax Foxsathdr-g.
---------- Just wondering if you could help. A question related to the Humax Freesat HDR & the remote controls. I have 2 recorders and remote controls, each recorder has a local TV and a remote TV, the remote TV is supplied by a Rimax 5.8Ghz sender unit. Have only ever been able to use one of the remote controls to change stations via the sender from the 1st floor because if I had the 2 sender magic eyes in use when using Sky the remote would change both Sky boxes,. Don't have Sky any more and had same problem with these boxes until I changed one of the remote codes to 5 after following the instructions in a post on another thread, which said press button '0' and buttong 'OK' together for 5 secs then follow instruction on screen, I usually have a remote by each TV, but after changing the code of one of the boxes to 5, I now can only use 1 remote for the 2 TV's as I don't know how to change the code in the 2nd control without it being in sync with a Freesat box as it is still code 1. Is there any way I can change the code in the remote to suit the code set in the box?. |

The top right on my Panny remote is the 'AV' button is this the one?

Thank you ![]() You see HDMI1 selected when you press AV once but you have to select another input then change back to HDMI1 before it will look again for a signal. I have owned a HDR and a Panny plasma for 2 years and this happens everytime we return home and the HDR is recording, but it is so simple to cure that I do not regard it as a problem. |

Yes that is the button, the HDR has come out of standby and is recording so thinks it does not need to tell the Panny to look at the input from HDMI1. You press the power button on the HDR remote to tell it you want to watch a tv program. The Panny has been turned on with no input from HDMI1 so it ignors the signal from the HDR.

I'll try that next time it's recording.
