I love that post from Tracy. It was before my time, but I remember reading it when flicking through the threads, it certainly made me smile

It was really nice of her to keep the mafia informed by posting on here.

I don't remember anything from Tracy about the final, but there was an interview with the three finalists here on DS where Danielle said something about her song being fun. I'd have to look it up for the exact wording.

As for "On My Own", there was speculation in here based on something Tracy had posted, but then someone posted the spoiler in another thread confirming it. We also got a spoiler for "When You Believe" and all the semi-finalists' solo songs in a DS article.

Just found what I was looking for - it was Danielle herself who said in the DS pre-final interview about some "silly" stuff:

With On My Own, I remember Tracy giving a clue that the song was a real tearjearker and we guessed it from that before we found out for sure.

Okay so as well as saying your own fave you can nominate others for a fave post too, as e.g. there are people who have left but who made memorable contributions!

I've decided to go back to the beginning of the OTR to read back some stuff and found some interesting things:

BabyDragon: those are great snippets, i'd forgotten about how lots of stuff was posted about Danielle on the live show threads probably before the appreciation thread was even started.

This is all great stuff for the fanbook! It should all go in, what do people think?

Sonny: not sure exactly what happened but Tracy made a comment about one of the other girl's mums (don't think we knew who!). Then I'm not quite sure what happened after that... the other appreciation threads weren't too pleased. best ask Snoop or DHF for all the details...

I love all this early thread / pre-thread stuff. Remember FDUX, or someone like that? He started this whole thing off. I don't think he was a passionate Dan fan, but he sure knew his gambling...

Interesting to read that Dan's odds were so long at the start. Amy was a rank outsider, and should never have been in the final.

This change of thread seems to have galvanised the mafia! I like it.

FXDUX lumped money on Danielle, but then got scared and started betting on the other girls after reading stuff in the papers.
He also started 'The Chosen One' thread, full of subliminal messages they were feeding us in the first live shows.

Thanks Baby. As I thought, FXDUX was more a gambler than a fan. He can contradict me if he wants!

Never even knew about the Chosen One thread. Interesting stuff, and we talked about the topic a lot at the end of part 5.

I never really believe what I see on TV, but I do know Dan was the best! I'm still surprised she was as long as 8 to 1 at the start.

I do the same thing, I only bet on people/things I like/support otherwise there is no point. Yes I put a bet on Danielle too.

Just wanted to say that I found out through fb and some twitter detective work that Danielle sang at (I think) a Girlguiding 100th anniversary party last night in Croydon. A guy involved posted a photo on twitter of himself with Danielle and replied to my tweet (thought he'd probs ignore some weird random person tweeting him but no!) saying that she sang something from SisterAct and we might get to see a vid of it sometime!
