Such a joy reading DS and all the reminiscing, and we are 6 months old! yay, happy birthday us

too tired to respond everything I want to, so much to say to all these posts! maybe over the weekend...

but think this thread response to 76 tromb wud be interesting too! panic mode!!! voting frenzy!!!

the reason I was banned, well let's go there over the weekend. but I think it was a really offensive thread we were all responding to. This girl started a thread saying that if Danielle won she would cry and she would not see the show. I think the thread title was 'If Danielle wins, I will cry'
lol

hmm be funny to find it to see exactly what I said. I think it was a bit mean but I was so cross with everyone by this point and all the endless anti-Danielle threads.

It was really hard not being able to post for 2 whole days at such a critical time!!!

Mass hysteria on finals night, first the 76 Trombones WTF happened, with absolute panic for the Dan fans thinking that ALW completely screwed it up for Dan. This then led to everyone multi-voting like nutters.

Some quotes from the Dan Hope thread that night:

I enjoyed it and thought it was hilarious but I think it could be a bit too throw away and not taken as seriously as the other 2.

3rd is very realistic now. Sorry for being negative but its true.

EDIT: I picked the winning dog, so wish It could be Dorothy as well.

Danielle is amazing no matter what happens”

What A Ridiculous Song Choice And Going Third Was Unfair

She Was Brilliant In The Wizard Of Oz Medley

Thank God She Got Through”

YAAAYYYYY! Danielle is through. Dire song choice, since although MT geeks know The Music Man, it really isn't as appealing as Tomorrow or I Could Have Danced All Night. PLUS she went third. I'm cross!

But I've voted loads. I lost count at about 40, plus I was texting to LaurenD so it all got a bit confusing!

Wasn't she brilliant, though? Particularly in If I Only Had A Brain - absolutely blew the others out of the water.

Okay - f*** the phone bill - off to vote some more. DAN4DOT!!!!”

what a strange song choice 76 trombones??? Such a relief I really was worried there. I have been voting fairly solidly since the lines opened, only failed to get through 3-4 times. Guess I must be at 30 votes or so at the moment...”

In the end it all worked out and Dan is Dot

My fellow mafiosi. My weekend topic is more touchy feely this time. How has Danielle changed your life? I'm meaning small things as well as big ones. Here's my answer:

1. I have at least SOME interest in MT. Before I had none. Now, apart from WoO, I can see myself seeing Wicked, Oliver and Les Miserables. I still draw the line at hoary old chestnuts like South Pacific and Carousel.

2. I spend a lot more time online. BD (before Dan) I checked my inbox and that was about it. Now I spend a lot of time browsing DS and the forum. Since signing up with DS I've even started posting on other threads, like Siophie and Strictly. But this thread will always be home.

3. I have grown to like ALW. Something of a volte-face, this.

4. I am greedy for news about Danielle. I want to know everything about her.

5. I now have a lot of virtual friends.

Ok, that's my experience. What about you, my fellow mafiosi? I want to know!

Hello, how is everyone?

And the weekend has arrived again

I was watching week 6 today and i think that week 6 has the best sing off's of the show. Jenny and Lauren are brilliant in their sing off and so are Jessica and Danielle.

Hmm, good question.

1. Well the obvious one first, I'm now in love with MT, before OTR I rarely took interest in anything theatre related mainly because I never found a reason to like anything. Now though Danielle has opened my eyes to a whole new world, since OTR I've seen a fair few MT shows including Sister Act (which was amazing).

2. Danielle has been a brilliant inspiration to me which has given me courage to try out new things such as playing musical instruments or attempting Drama (not my forte). But the main thing shes taught me is that no matter how hard a task might appear if you put your mind and heart into it you'll succeed.

3. I've met lots of wonderful people through fan sites who all share the same passion I do, this is a big plus in my book because there isn't really anyone else around me to discuss it all with which could have gotten quite lonely.

I'm sure there is more so if I think of some I'll let you all know

Good answer! I don't think I will ever be IN LOVE with MT, but at least I am now open to it.

It is so captivating and breathtaking to watch a good show, I'm completely hooked now.

Hellooooo. Yes, the atmosphere just before a show starts is amazing, when everyone knows it is about to begin and all goes silent. Can't beat it.

Go to see Wicked and see then if youre not in love with MT. It got my best friend and he was totally anti theatre now cant wait to go back.
Also WOO might have an impact.

Off topic: I think the hardcore fans might have made a difference to Wazza's 'thinking'. Not that I approve of intimidation, you understand!

On topic: Yes, I very much want to see Wicked. Dipping a toe into MT will be a big thing for me; I have never been so bored as when I saw Cats a few years ago.

Funny, I only just found out on the Siophie thread that BiB means 'bit in bold'. Strange the things you learn on DS...

For me, the Dan/Lauren duet was a real highlight. That makes me want to see Wicked.

lol, DS is expanding our shorthand understanding. Who says DS isnt educational.

When I seen Wicked it wasnt long after the Laurielle Duet, so i sat through that segment and all I could here was the Laurielle version. It really depends on the actress playing Glinda, some ham it up and make it hilarious but others go nearly too far in hamming it up. Louise was great when we went. As was Rachel.

Oh yes, I have learnt a lot on DS. And ETA, apart from more connotations of violence, obviously has something to do with editing. Oh, and something else Dan has done for me: my speed of typing has improved no end, what with all this practice!

I can only say that Dan was fantastic when she sang Popular.
