What contract for texting ?
Hi
I have a pay as you go phone on orange just now but paying out a bit to much and thinking id be better off with a contract phone.I only phone people now and then because its always texts i send. Does anyone know good deals for people that text ? iv seen orange deal with 3000 texts for £20 but i would never use that much and iv had a look at o2 online offpeak300 with 500 texts and 300 off peak mins for £20,500 texts would be enough and i don't wanna pay over £20 a month.Anyone help me ? |

I think you'd probably be best off with an O2 Online tariff, if you can cope with online billing and CS at premium rates.
If you want XNet minutes then for an extra £2.50 you can swap the off peak minutes for 50 XNet minutes. Alternatively, if you go SIM Only on O2 Online (i.e. you already have a phone) you can get 100 XNet minutes with the same 500 texts for £20 exactly. See http://shop.o2.co.uk/cgi-bin/o2uk/js...riff.do?menu=y for more info. The package you said (OffPeak 300) is only £15pm on SIM Only. Vodafone used to offer a tariff called Talk By Text but they don't have it anymore. Even 3 can't beat O2 Online. Their VideoText 500 gives you 500 texts and 50 XNet minutes for £25pm. But the O2 option above works out cheaper, even if you get the standard Online tariff (not SIM only). |

I am on O2 Pay as you go. I get 300 free text messages each month for a Minimum £10 topup each month.
So, as long as you topup each month £10, you get 300 free text messages. Would this be better for you? No contract, plus free text messages. |

I cant say for certain, but I would think that if you put a £10 topup on it, it will become active again, and get the free text messages. You must continue to top up £10 or more each month for you to receive the text messages that month.
