As we have gone a bit down the American route this year, if we go more next year and have Technical and performance scores like they have on DWS, what will Alesha do as she can't possibly mark on the Technical side.

I'm sure she'll come up with something,...perhaps just parroting whatever Len says will work.....oh hang on

Oh look, another Alesha-bashing thread.

Excellent, we haven't had one of those for, ooh, several hours now.

Carrie-Ann Inaba does it who has by all accounts never done any ballroom dancing ever and has no qualifications, so I don't see how Alesha would stick out.

Well, Carrie Ann dated Artem for more than two years.
Surely that must count for something.

I think it would be wrong to do this anyway, it would lead to people 'overacting' the dance. I think some of the best dances are a bit more subtle.
Kara and Artem's QS on Saturday is an example - she was told she had to up the performance a bit. It's hard to see how she could do that without looking completely mental. The judges already mark people up or down dependent on performance.

It puzzles me that there are some people who don't!

Perhaps we could leave Alesha with the performance marks and technical difficulty for LEARNING THE STEPS - which she would know about and Len, Bruno and Craig wouldn't.

Would be lovely to have a proper discussion about this subject, which I and others have brought up in previous years, without pulling it immediately into the kindergarten.

I think having seperate marks for performance & technical is an excellent idea.

personally i didn't think it made much difference - the best people stil get the best scores and are highest on the leader board and vice versa - just another gimmick to make it more "entertaining" - just bloody dance - thats why we watch!

But having seperate scores would spread the leaderboard out & show who is good at both performance & technical or just be a performer.

Neither can Craig or Bruno......

The three stooges haven't got a single ballroom dancing credential between them.......

If anything - Alesha has probably spent the most time learning it with the couple of hundred hours of one to one training she did with Matthew the year she won (probably 3-4 years worth of weekly classes for normal people)

I think Artem is rather unattractive. I hope Kara steers clear of him.
