How much longer will 'Written in the Stars' be A-listed for on Radio 1?!
Just looked at the updated list and it is on there AGAIN! I am interested in the playlist so check every now and then, and i make that at least the fifth week in a row it's been a-listed. I mean the song is good but this is a bit over the top.

Well it's still in the top 5.
Anyway, 5 or 6 weeks is nothing compared to the many other songs this year alone which have been on the A list for much longer than Written In The Stars. Islands by The xx was there for about 2 months, Love The Way You Lie was there for ages too, as was The Cave by Mumford & Sons. I can think of at least 5 others. |

There've been songs on the playlist for longer than Written in the Stars though, so it's not that shocking tbh. Some songs they keep on the playlist for ages, because they sell bucket-loads of weeks on end (e.g. Love the Way You Lie was top 10 for 14 weeks, so it makes sense it was playlisted for so long).
And, I'm not sure what it is, but a song by The XX was playlisted for an eternity. It spent over a quarter of the year on the playlist I think, and that song wasn't even very popular. Also, it's not as bad as other radio stations playlists. Look at what's on the playlist for Heart FM (the biggest non-BBC radio station in the country). |
