Please think very carefully about breeding - doing it right is costly and time consuming. Picking a complimentary stud, traveling to the stud (could be the other side of the country), stud fees, breed relevant health screening, vet fees, etc. And even doing everything right, things go wrong and you could lose your girl, the puppies or all of them
Sorry for the OT.

Hi thanks for the concern. When we first got Lady the woman we bought her from had been breeding for years. She asked us if we would be considering breeding, and if we were to call her so she can recommend a sire for Lady. She is a 5 generation pedigree and chanpions upon champions in her bloodline, and we want to carry that on. In comparison to Leo, Lady ooozes emotional intellegence and understanding, she was extremely easy to train and I think if Leo wasn't around she would have been a 'lap dog', she has really strong communication skills aswell.
On the other hand Leo wasn't KC registered, he is a pedigree though, but his bloodline hasn't been the best thought out, and it is obvious that this has caused some problems with his temprement. He really is such a loving dog, we 'saved' him when he was 7 months old, a family with 6 young kids and 2 cats sold him to us because 'the cats didn't like him and they were there first!', the man of the house clearly didn't like him either, his pet name for him was 'scruffy', and Leo genuinely seemed scared of him. I have no idea what went on in those months they had him, but when we brought him home he stuck to me like glue and for a couple of days he was wary of sound and movement. Then after a couple of days he just spent three days practically sleeping all the time, he was up beside me on the sofa on his back belly and all exposed (I took that as a sign he trusted me) snoring away!! However, he still has a 'red mist' i remember once washing my chopping board and I was carrying it over to my sideboard and he just went mental! Really on his guard and obviously felt threatened in some way... I can only assume that he has been hit, and still has that memory.
I would never breed Lady with just any dog, I will go to her breeder and get proper advice and she will recommend a good sire for her.
