Vodafone - I'm about to exceed my data allowance - WHAT?!?!

I got a text from Vodafone today saying I am close to my monthly allowance for the month with another 2 weeks to go. I have a 1GB allowance and not what you would call a heavy user, although I recently changed my settings to sync data regularly, but I mostly use wifi at home and at work... and don't use my phone that much tbh.

Also, I have an app called 3G Watchdog, and according to that I have only used about 150Mb, which is more like what I think I've used.

So I've logged onto the flaky Vodafone billing site. Where does it display my data usage total?!?! I can see itemised usage, but what about a total? Presumably Vodafone have a total somewhere if they are sending me a text saying I'm approaching my limit...

There's an option to download the data, so I downloaded my unbilled usage into Excel, although I see the data column has 'kb' after the firgure... aaaarrrgh! I'm sure I could write something to get round that but why not just give a column with a number?!?! How massive is this company and how hard would it be to fix that?!?!?

Anyway, I make it <180Mb of usage - I am none the wiser.

I can understand your confusion if this is drastically higher than you believe it should be.

The My Account service doesn't currently show a total amount used for data and I can see why this would be useful so I will feedback your comments to the business for their consideration.

In terms of your data usage, I'd like to take a look at your account to see what's going on.

Send me an email from here with WRT135 in the subject line (so that it comes straight to my team) and I'll check for any errors and get and an answer for you.

they send me these messages. Usually whilst i'm asleep. And i know i'm nowhere near my allowance.

I use a little app called traffic stats lite which shows me what's using my data allowance.

Installed it after weatherbug used about 350mb in a few hours!! (scared the life out of me as couldn't figure out what was happening at first.. just got a warning from 3g watchdog and literally watched my data usage going up really fast!)

I've had exacty the same thing happen to me 3 times, and each time i've been nowhere near my 1GB allowance (just over 500 meg in fact). I've called vodafone who confirmed this and was told to ingnore it. Not sure what's going on.
