I took a dislike to Paloma last week, but couldn't quite put my finger on why, and this week it is because she has shown she is very sneering of her peers. Which is a shame really, as despite not being able to warm to her, and despite the fact she wanted to 'upsell' one of their orders despite not knowing whether or not they would be able to deliver, in terms of presentation and the way in which the team spoke to and dealt with clients, she was the best.

Agreed. Her main talent seems to be blaming other people and getting aggressive. Thought she was vile, but also knew she wouldn't be sacked.

I dont think my interpretation of LS words are wrong or that he meant there was room for negotiation. They did negotiate. The chef was even surprised at getting the money which most likely went into his own pocket.
I think the best thing is always to go against whatever the PM does or says. Like this if you win, you win, and if you lose the task, its not your fault!
It does surprise me that when a task goes wrong they always say they are still 'learning'. These are not young recruits, they have all been in business, whatever have they 'learned' till now.

I could't put my finger on what I didn't like about Paloma until last night , when she really revealed her truly nasty nature last night . talk about being duplicitous and snide . She will come unstuck , there is a clip of Lord Alan saying to someone you have talked yourself out of this and I wouldn't be suprised if that was Paloma

It was funny when Your Fired showed Paloma denying she said anything negative about Sandeesh and then showed the damming clips that proved she lied in the Boardroom.

I don't like it when they lie to protect themselves, and it wasn't as if it was bitching without basis. Paloma could have defended her comments easily. What did Sandeesh do in that task exactly apart from moan and sulk about the order, and saying she wasn't going to do it? Um. Getting orders is the point! Compare her to Chris who took the orders and got on with it - she comes off very badly. She was probably more destructive in her negative attitude than if she did nothing.

This is forum is so cutely sensitive. She fibbed about something that was of little relevance whatsoever. Who knows the context? She could have offered a fairer assessment of Sandeesh after she was critical. It could have been a flippant of-the-moment comment that didn't reflect her true view of Sandeesh. The Apprentice is so heavily and unsubtly edited it's almost pointless to have opinions about it.

Strange that there's so much moral finger-wagging over an unimportant lie but none directed towards Shibby's pathetic weasely boardroom tactics.

Dunno. We probably see less than 1% of the footage they have of her for the task.

Yet, the footage we did see was pretty much collaborated by comments made from her teammates and Karen that Sandeesh was a coaster.

For her sake, she better liven up as PM.

She had not forgotten... she said I do deny it because you brought it up first..... in other words " yeah I bitched ... but you went first"

He (shibby) brought it up because she was indicating with gesture and facial expression, that she disagreed with him when he was saying his reasons for bring Sandeesh into the board room.

The show ended with her misrepresenting the way things went in the board room. She'll get hers

I was wondering whether Paloma had forgotten Karen Brady's lesson from last week.

If I remember correctly, Karen was saying that the ladies appearing on the show need to wear a lot more make-up. In order to conceal what lies beneath the surface.

Otherwise, viewers might form the impression that the ladies are catty, opinionated and argumentative. Which is, of course, completely untrue.

I think she'll do well with Lord Sugar in the boardroom because she's his type - an attractive, well-groomed, controlled woman who really looks the part or a tip-top executive.

But in fact, apart from blatantly lying about how she slags the others off, she's rubbish and spectacularly out of her depth. Shibby was right: she was happy to sell, sell, sell anything to her clients and to promise them, if not the world, 400 of this or that - except she had zero capacity to deliver.

That's the very worst type of salesperson, let alone businessperson - it's counter-productive. I know from my own experience in business that I never, ever forget the name or face of someone polished and convincing who turms up and pitches their goods or services in a golden light and then turns out later to be a complete BS-er. The guy or girl who says Honestly I don't know, can I just find out, can I get back to you, could I have more time, more money or try for a smaller order or we'll try hard but I can't promise - that's the person you can work with.

She has shown that she is untrustworthy. The look on Shandeeshs face, as Shibby was spilling the beans was great.

Paloma will get far...and it will be great to see her face when she gets fired.

Well, no. It was his job as PM to assess the candidates on his team and identify the weakest. That's not "childish and gossipy". He brought up the conversation because it was relevant to his assessment of Sandeesh. She denied it because she wanted Sandeesh on her side as they took down Shippy.


I don't think Nick or Karren was present in the car. A cameraman obviously was, and a driver, but I've no idea how much they'd have passed back to Lord Sugar. I expect the significance of that conversation didn't become apparent until long after the boardroom; it may even have been found by the editor, months later. Probably Lord Sugar learned what she said was untrue only a few days ago.

I don't like using the word "lie" because she may have forgotten. However, it does seem to me that Paloma has a reality distortion field, and often says things which are untrue. So she'll probably get caught out sooner or later.

Neither of her teammates were there for most of the day and, as Karen was at the pitches, niether was she. They did not see what Sandeesh was or was not doing.

And for those saying that she was moaning and sulking about the order, perhaps she was the only one who knew what they could and could not produce. They were already producing the stuff for the market, and then to have 1000 rolls and 400 croisants dumped on top of that when they've not even discussed making croisants seems a bit much on the part of the PM. Someone needed to look at what they could realistically produce and get on with that. Remember 1000 rolls at 6p a pop is only £60 (minus costs too). Was it really worth knocking themselves out for that, particularly when they were selling muffins at £2 a go?

Of course, she could just be a sulky, lazy bint

I think it was fair of Shimmy to mention the conversation in the car as Sugar had asked why he'd brought Sandeesh into the boardroom. He said he thought she didn't contribute and that Paloma thought the same.

You make some fair points. Also, Sandeesh was one who argued in favour of the exclusive Boots deal last week. Paloma argued against it.

I had been liking Paloma and disliking Sandeesh because Paloma had done a good job of the photography in week 2 and Sandeesh had bitched about it. However, now I am disliking Paloma, I need to reassess Sandeesh and her opinions about her.

Mind you, anyone who says, "Don't fire me, make me PM instead!" in the boardroom deserves to get fired pronto.

I have mixed feelings about Paloma - on the one hand she's a good salesperson and hasn't done badly in some tasks - on the other hand she lied in the boardroom and can be very agressive (there's a lot of characters like that this year).

She lied in the boardroom for one reason - she really wanted to get rid of Shibby, and wanted to present a united front with Sandeesh. But in my opinion, she dug a hole for herself.

I don't think she'll win though. I suspect that she may be just a good salesperson and that her sense of superiority will cost her. Also she's in marketing, and Sir Alan doesn't like marketing people apparently.

He should have acused her of lying outright like one of the guys did last year in a similar situation. IMO, its pretty obvious that Paloma is vindictive and is prepared to get very vindictive when "she has to"!

I think AS saw through her, but Shibbys almost deliberate self destruct attitude made it hard for him to sack anyone else, I would have sacked all 3 of them though.

She's very nice to look at though.

It's every man or woman for themselves in the boardroom and always has been. All the candidates over the years have said whatever it takes to stay in so she is no different.

I think Paloma has lots of potential and out of them all she acts like a really credible businesswoman. She's not perfect though and clearly messed up in this task when she was guaranteeing things she couldn't promise. She's still an interesting one to watch though and I hope she lasts a while.

I think that's a fairly charitable interpretation of what Shibby was doing. He huffed "What did Sandeesh do today?" to two people who weren't in any position to know what Sandeesh had done. Just seemed like he was trying to draw out all-purpose moans about her, which he managed to do. It's still a private conversation, and completely irrelevant to the task at hand and the boardroom. If Paloma wants to express her opinion of Sandeesh then it's on her to do so, not for Shibby to start bringing up private bitching sessions. I doubt Sandeesh has kept her "Princess Paloma" nickname to herself either - still wouldn't be professional for someone else to bring that up in the boardroom either.

It was a dreadful lie - but I did wonder if she actually remembered what she had said about Sandeesh. Sometimes people say things as an aside or off the top of their head and then forget it.

I so agree. I'm so fed up with that desperate straw clutcher and often over the years it works because they fluke the win or someone in their team is responsible for the win and not them so they get to stay longer when they shouldn't really.

I don't think it should matter whether or not you've been PM before getting fired.

Joy didn't get her chance to be PM did she this series, neither did Maj last year.

Paloma is attractive. I always believe everything attractive women say.

Yeah, she's gorgeous, but beauty is only skin deep. It wasn't so much that she lied in the boardroom, but it was the vehemence of her denial that rankled me. That and the fact that she sat there looking down her nose at Shibby. Arrogance is not becoming...

Sandeesh sat there looking like a frightened rabbit for most of it, and when she did speak sounded unconvincing. I thought she looked genuinely shocked to still be there at the end.

Shibby deserved to go, he dug himself into a hole in the boardroom and seemed happy to stay in it.

The two girls' cards were well marked by Lord Sugar, though, Sandeesh in particular. Looking forward to next week's task.
