Paloma is too uptight for The Apprentice plus she is agressive

I think Paloma's main problem is that she's rather impulsive - that was shown last night. She also seems, a lot like Melissa, to wind people up, and doesn't always listen (although her problem wasn't as bad as Mel's though). Still, I reckon she has potential to get to the final five - but only if she reigns her personality in. I don't think she'll win though.

I reckon she's aggressive in the bedroom too.

Have any of you run a distribution company?! Clearly not.

Paloma was right to make her judgement. It was her idea to go to Soho in the first place, while the others tagged along for the ride. And it proved to be a lucrative decsion in the end.

She gave that retailer an exclusuvie period within a few streets in Soho for a limited time period. Unless I am suffering from brain damage, that is not exclusivity! Which she was trying to point out to Chris. And in a distrbution scenario if she feels that was a good deal within the area (don't forget these guys were working the streets for hours that day) then good on her for securing it.

Typical, when strong & decisive people are balsy enough to make descisions, they get executed for it.

That is what busines is about !

Well given the time between filming and airing, I'd say about 12 months older, right?

sofakat, do you ever stop going on about people being threatened by powerful women? My lord, do you have an agenda.

She is aggressive, which would be fine if she was also competent. Confidence with nothing to back it up isn't a good thing You seem to think agressivness and confidence is all that is needed. As someone else pointed out on this forum, the guy who asked for exclusivity was a much better business person than she'll ever be.

Stella and Liz, now these are competent, capable women.

seriously- what a cheek!

competence- it was Paloma who saved Shibby in task 3
When Shibby called to tellt he team about Paloma's whopping order they freaked out and said they had only been baking baugettes and muffins all day.

So in second meeting- Paloma was pushing hard to sell those bauguettes & managed to change their mind from paninis and ciabattas.

Shibby crapped his pants, had a melt down and called the whole deal off.

Turned out they ended up with excess baugettes on Day2 they couldn't get rid off and had to give away for free.

How is Paloma incompetent?!

Last night she came up with the idea of going to Soho to sell the t-shirts as the other 2 numpties didn't have a clue.

She didn't offer nationwide exclusivity-she offered 2 streets within soho a defnite time period. Hardly what I call exclusivity.
She totally smashed it- again on the sales front. Her decision to keep this over & above Sandeesh's made sense because it was a significantly larger order & that team was going to be judged on final sales figures for the day.
Seriously get a life Paloma is incompetent.
She is the only one that has the balls to go for the sales & make descisions as numpties around her whinge & moan.

I am not alone. I think there is still a major problem in this country with women in business and the double standards applied to them.

But of course, you'd have to be a successful and assertive business woman to know that. I wonder how many of you who damn ambition, drive and assertion in other women actually fit that bill yourself?

Stella and Liz have that without being aggessive, and both have been more impressive than Paloma so far. OK, Liz's product sold itself but she has worked well in all the tasks, and pitched well in last nights'. And Stella controlled a team of men very well and made it look effortless.

And by the way, you need the attributes you mentioned for many professions, not just business.

And who exactly is damning ambition? And why exactly do you see criticism of the hot-headed, aggressive Paloma as damning ambition? It suggests she is faultless when she is very far from it.

That is exactly what the BBC want you to think!
Just because they haven't shown you footage of Liz having a yelling match doesn't mean she hasn't been doing it also...

Why do guys think that Stella got singled out to work with the guys....?!

Serioulsy you guys are so naive- it is television!!!

Yes, we're well aware by now that reality TV is edited. Old news.

Paloma still said the things she did and acted that way. Please don't say she was "taken out of context".

Watch the episode 2 boardroom again (you can´t edit anything out of that yelling fest).

But it was what Lord Sugar called exclusivity, and its his opinion that counts.

Smashed it eh? Shall we have a quick look at the stats for last nights task?

Liz - two sales of £99,000 and £19,900 for an all time record in UK apprentice of £118,900.

Paloma - 200 items in a deal that can't be honoured. *Takes out Stubags invisible calculator* that makes £0.00

Hmmm - I take it "Smashed" means driven into the ground in a crashing kind of way?

I still think she will be there to the interview episode, then she will be taken apart by the interviewers

can't compare apples with apples! seriously do you guys pay attention?

BIG difference between what the mobile team had to do vs the corporate pitch team.

Corporate pitch team had appointments laid out by lord sugar. If they didn't get a big order- I'd seriously question why they bothered applying. It was all laid out.

Being 'Corporates' naturally their order quantities are going to be a lot higher.

The mobile team had to go cold selling door to door.
Sorry but 200 units vs 12, 30 and other piddly orders coming in that day is pretty impressive.

But she only got them by granting unauthorised exclusivity. If she hadn't he was only going to take 25.

Yes, I was paying attention, I noticed that Jamie sold £10,000 worth of showerheads to the hardware store - not 'laid on' by Lord Alan. Again, though, I have to point out that Paloma's "sale" could not be honoured and so was worthless.

do you honestly think someone like Paloma would only walk away with 25...?

Doubt it.

Sound descision to go with that retailer. They were the most committed to the product than any other they had visited that day.

It was Chris that F* it by making out it was such a big deal that it was 'exclusivity' that Nick & Sralan pick up on it.She didn't offer that in the end- she gave them a launch period of a few months.

You still can't convince me that Paloma is not good. She has been the only one that is willing to put her neck on the line time & time again- like any other confident business person I know.Everyone else sits back like wall flowers and then moans & criticizes other for making decisions.
How boring!
Loona123

and paloma's sale came to £7,000

so I'd argue that it was a good effort
