Does anybody know if there are any Freesat boxes that let you watch 2 channels at once. So one on HDMI and one on the RF output for example. Obviously this could only work in a twin tuner model when you weren't recording. I would imagine technically it shouldn't be that hard but making a user interface to allow it would be difficult without being very confusing.

AFAIK there are no twin tuner boxes of any type capable of this being made now. It not only requires two tuners it also requires two decoding circuits and two audio/video output circuits. The only box I have ever come across with this facility was the Pace Twin Freeview PVR which was discontinued quite a few years ago which could output different channels from each of its two scart outputs although it was intended for recording to an external recorder as it could only record one to its internal hard disk.

I think I found that one earlier. I'm not sure how useful it would be in reality but I bet there are lot of people feeding a second TV with the output from a Freesat box or similar. It would be nice to be able to watch something different if it wasn't recording at the same time.

It's hard enough to explain to many people what you can do with a twin tuner pvr. Imagine the confusion if you had to assign two output streams to different ports and keep changing it

The average salesman would be totally out of their depth and a nightmare for customer support lines.

Many twin tuners have "picture in picture".

For watching two live Frreeview channels simultaneously, easiest way is buy two cheap receivers, often under £20 each.

They do but you still can't send a different picture to a different telly. The extra picture is overlaid on the single output.
