Don't agree with the Kara being the judges favourite comments, her Quickstep was totally undermarked IMO and Pamela has consistently scored higher.

Anybody disagree ?”

If dancing has anything to do with the results, then I would agree that Scott, Matt, Pamela & Kara should be the final 4 - but unfortunately it's not always the dancing that counts, is it?

I've a feeling that at least one of those 4 will be voted out in the next few weeks in favour of one of the weaker dancers who the GBP take a fancy to, or maybe even to Ann.

Matt - I like him, he has been let down abit from Alionas choreography but if she can nail it I think he'll do well.

Pamela - I'm quite indifferent to her really. I have enjoyed all of her dances so far and would like to see her progress quite far but shes not a favorite.

Kara - Would like to see her do some more latin before I make my mind up but all those stupid acrobatics during her quickstep annoyed me.

Scott - he was not a favorite of mine at all until last week and now I'd love to see him make the final.

Jimi & Gavin - I would love love to see these two improve and become outsiders. Not sure if they will mind you.

I think this will happen too. I think maybe it will be Kara that goes as she doesn't seem to have the entertainment factor that some of the others have despite being a lovely dancer.

And we all know that the GBP prefer to be entertained by jazz hands and gurning than dance talent.

It is, of course, too early to predict (not that it will stop us having fun doing just that!) and it will be different this year with the result being so dependent on the public vote. The truth is that those four are pretty evenly matched and so are more likely to take the top spots week on week on the judges' votes, which will protect them for a while even if they're not wildly popular with the public.

I know this conversation has focused on the boys, but I'm surprised that Pamela hasn't featured higher in people's estimation. She's a favourite of the judges, a favourite of the slebs on It Takes Two and, topping it all, a favourite with the women at my hair salon! I'm not saying they're infallible, but they're remarkably good at predicting winners.

I like Kara and Matt, and I agree with those people who say Scott is growing on them. Those four are indeed the stand-out couples at the moment.

I'll hold my hands up to being a fan of Pamela and Scott, but I do like to think Pamela could win it. Cherie was amazing at ballroom and stayed in for a long timw in series 6, despite being poor at latin. I'm worried for the jive but can't see Pam being in any way bad at cha cha, samba or paso. It would be nice to see an older person win. I wouldn't bet against Scott or Matt but do agree with comments re Matt peaking too soon - out of the top 4, he's the only one not to see even a one point increase in score week on week

Problem is we don't know what the audience is and who votes. The internet polls show a pattern that makes sense but its not telling if a lot of voters are in their 70s and have no computer.

Pamela for example should (if she keeps it up) be in the final on ability and effort - but she's unknown to a young audience and may have been too modern in style for many of todays more ancient voters when they were younger. Not The Nine A Clock News, comes later and has a smaller, niche, audience than say Felicity on The Good Life. Continuing the comparison, Felicity has an ongoing TV and theatre career and her TV shows are repeated - wheras Pamela's haven't been. Elsewhere, Ann is attracting a big internet vote (yahoo poll) for being the novelty performer and I suspect a lot of voters would vote for her politically too. Amongst the others, Kara seems known and liked and is pretty good, and Tina is well known because of her soap audience. The top boys are getting internet votes and also have high TV visibility.

It would blow the competition into meaninglessness if they were to lose Pamela (or Kara) early - but its the sort of nonsense thats possible given past history and their silly decision to remove the safety net of a dance off.

I think it was an excellent decision.

The show was at it's best in the first four series without it. It wasn't so much up itself.

Yeah, Tom "Jazz-Hands" Chambers and all his gurning got on my wick too.

I'm developing a real liking for the Natalie/Scott partnership.

Matt is maybe too driven to win for me; loved him week 1, but his likeability is dropping slowly.

Kara is excellent, but I agree with others that something just seems to be missing when she dances. Hard to put a finger on as she has the best new Pro, (don't like Artem much at first glance, but I think his routines have been amazing) and has a bubbly personality off the floor. I think though, that it's the partnership, she doesnt seem to be dancing with Artem yet.

Pamela I really enjoyed watching weeks one and two, but despite it being so early in the series, I think she will be the one in danger of having plateau'd and being over-taken by the younger contestants. I hope she proves me wrong.

I agree with your take on each of the contestants you've talked about Smokey - pretty much word for word!
