Ann was on 'this Morning' and she said that only the top half of the harness will be released and she will have to dance with the bottom half still on her - i must say i hate these gimmicks on the show this year - to be fair john sargeant didnt have any of this nonsense.

I thought all this stuff was kept for the show dance in the final i think they are making a farce out of this show now.

At least her posture is better when she's hanging in that harness. Maybe Anton just despaired of asking her to straighten up...

Completely cynical gimmick which is totally unnecessary. There is a point where a joke has been Brucied to death and Anne has done just that. Were she and Anton to continue without the sillies but with effort and enjoyment in what they are doing, it is fair enough and they would deserve support. Either they are bored with the dancing or they have run out of ideas.

Ann and Anton are beginning to get on my nerves to be honest.

The comedy and entertainment they bring is starting to feel very forced. Even during their interviews, I feel like they are trying too hard to be funny.

Well I think I'll reserve judgement until I've actually seen the dance.

Me too.

I also don't want a precedent set that competing couples can use this kind of equipment, It is different from a prop and I think the producers are making a big mistake.

It would guarantee bounce action in the jive, although the winch may need replacing afterwards....

Good.

Her presence on the show makes me feel uncomfortable so at least I'll know that she's suffering a bit too.

Altough I do wonder if they could build a harness that would keep her top half in check and at least that would be a relief to most of us .

I fear the same. It will all become just silly. We might just as well have just showdances every week. I love most of the changes to the format this year, but the gimmicks are definitely a mistake.

Actually I wish they would give her a proper bra, my back hurts when I see her.

I agree so much Buddy. It feels so wrong to do this. It is changing the dance into a novelty act.

If this is what we're to expect if Ann and Anton make further progression I hope to God they go tomorrow.

It is completely forced ~ as shown on ITT, the 'hilarious' fumbled ending to their quickstep was choreographed into the routine.

It's all very very amusing

She looked really uncomfortable in that harness, in the photo in the Mail.

I'm only surprised, given her size, 'elf 'n' safety haven't insisted on a bosun's chair.

The only thing is, Ann has been set up as a novelty act from the off. She knows it, and so does Anton, and they are playing to this as much as possible. The fact that she makes John Sergeant look like Ricky Whittle is apparently irrelevant.

And the producers are milking Ann's presence for all its worth (not a lot, in my book ...). This story - obviously leaked to the Daily Mail for publicity purposes - is the worst example so far of the prominence Ann is being given. No other contestant is being given the same attention, the same pre-performance build-up or the same hype.

I wonder how the others feel about this - especially those in the middle of the leader board, who are most vulnerable to the Widdinator. What would happen if they put in as little effort as she does? At least John Sergeant tried.

Moira Ross is playing a dangerous game with the Strictly format: yes, it's an entertainment show, but even the less gifted dancers have always learned the steps they've been given, rather than relied on cheap tricks like we are going to be subject to tomorrow.

This joke isn't funny any more.

They couldn't give any other ONE couple prominence - except for Ann and Anton since the rest are serious contenders for the glitterball.

Every Court has its Jester and this year we have Ann.
I hope they don't overdo it, but I'm still happy to see them perform, for now.
