Who Are You Favourite 2010 Discoveries?
I always judge an artist by their albums....for some reason you get a better connection ...strangely I have to listen to the album in order..i am sure I am alone on this......anyhow ....my favourite disocveries this year .....have been:
Plan B - The Defamation of Strickland Banks (what a cracking album ..... i bought his previous album but I didnt like it .... his new style is more like a male amy winehouse motown styling... and I just love the album.......voice reminds me of smokey robinson) Marina and The Diamonds - solid and enjoyable album..... Hurts - Happiness (was not that keen on wonderful life...but i know get them as the album is brill) Kylie - Aphrodite (reignited my love for Kylie after a disappointing few albums) Who have you discovered? |

I would say that Solo & Salt Air which were fantastic, don't appear on the Unicorn almbum. Worth checking them out too |

discovered The XX this year with their AMAZING album XX, it always eases me and it's so very one of it's kind album, from beginning to end one of the most beautiful music pieces ever! sure thing.
realised how much i loved Robyn this year with her Body Talk trilogy! and Kelis with her Fleshtone album! MIA's recent release also reminded me of how mch i love her as an artist, very unique the Maya album is! Hurts are pretty slick too. Janelle Monae's The ArchAndroid is MY album of 2010! just an exceptional debut album! so finely produced and a very unusual and fantastical voice! and up there with Christina's, Gorillaz', The XX's and Robyn with the best of this year! also JUST discovered The Morning Benders who are an Asian indie pop band and Laura Marling's vocals are really pure i love her, may get her album too! |

They're awesome aren't they! Solo and Salt Air are two of my favourites; odd they weren't on the album. I love Karen, Play Together and Slick as well.
Damn good live to! Not many people I know have heard of them, which is odd because they make wicked tunes! Problem at the moment is that they are touring everywhere apart from the UK. They played Glastonbury, but they were on at the same time as LCD Soundsystem & I couldn't miss James & team. Trust me, it was a tough decision |

agreed - i too loved albums by Kelis and Robyn this year.....although I am a bit disappointed with the expected boydt talk 3 being a compendium of the first two with 5 new tracks...was hoping for a new album completely....
I also love the Chew lips album.....Eliza Doolittle album (good pop album), Rox (a great voice with a modern supremes feel)

I discovered Florence + The Machine this year and as a result Lungs is one of my most played albums of 2010. Adore her.
Fave album of 2010 is Aphrodite by Kylie.
