Yes I got this, a nice little bonus but I doubt i'll ever use it that much. 3g is fast enough for me and the few times that there has been no 3g signal and i've been desperate and tried to connect to an unsecure network (naughty me) I've only found a BT openzone a couple of times and never a cloud hotspot so don't think they're that common near me anyway.
For everyone confused, access to your home wireless is always free (well obviously you have to pay your isp, but apart from that) from your mobile, it doesn't take any allowance, charge per GB or anything like that. It's your home internet, nothing to do with a mobile network. You only pay per GB or get internet taken out of your allowance only when using mobile internet that is not wireless e.g. 3G, edge etc.
What this 'free wifi' from o2 means is that you can now access their partner wifi hotspots from BT and The Cloud which you would normally have to pay to access.

I had a quick read about it. For the iphone you just have to turn on your wifi, connect to the btopenzone or cloud network, go into your browser and it should automatically bring you to the openzone or cloud login page then enter your mobile number and it should connect.
Haven't tried it yet myself but what presume it's similar sort of setup for SE
