Come Dancing was shuffled off to BBC2 late night midweek because nobody watched it, and it died a natural death. SCD isn't the same show despite having a similar title. It is about entertainment, and that's an element the dance freaks forget.”

I would agree with the sentence highlighted.

The original Come Dancing died a death because the BBC and the guy who behind the show, who's name I'll not mention(!) kept bringing on more and more stupid presenters, and wouldn't allow the show the "grow up". It didn't help when the beeb in their wisdom decided to put it on at the same time as Coronation Street. But it survived 40-odd years so can hardly be dismissed as unsuccessful.

As a dancer though, I object to being classed a freak, thank you very much.
