Before I get flamed to death, this is the first time I have started a thread on the SCD Forum, so please don't go for me too badly.

Has anyone else noticed how odd Felicity looks sometimes, the way her nose and mouth look, something doesn't look right? She is / was such a beautiful woman, but the middle portion of her face doesn't 'work' properly.

I am more aware of the constant twitching mouth, biting of her lip and shaking her hair.
It was more noticeable in previous weeks and I put it down to chronic nervousness which she herself said during the week has diminished as the weeks went on.
I suppose once you get to a certain age, having been successful on tv at a much younger age, you're very aware that people will be drawing comparisons.

Go for it, Fliss - just pretend in you're still in 'The Avenue'

That's probably a better description than mine. I'm amazed that an actress of her longevity and calibre would suffer so badly from nerves.

Has she had Botox? It does look like she has sometimes.

She has always had those odd mouth movements, and affectations, even as a young actress - one of the reasons why I have never rated her. It's the kind of mannered acting you pick up at RADA (in the 50s) along with the coy, girlish, cooing behaviour which works when you are a fresh 20, but not when you should be a grown, elegant woman of 60 something.

Flissity has always done the 'girlish' RADA starlet number. The problem is the wind changed and she stayed that way. Oops.

Nervous? Not on your nellie. Backbone of steel and rampant competitive streak. If she's twitching a bit it's because it's slowly dawning on her that she's actually not very good at this and blowsy blonde Pammie is walking away with the 'glam granny crown' right before her very eyes!

Oh the pain of it!

She has definitely had some work on her face. It's odd looking.

Do we need yet another thread slagging off Felicity and her appearance? There are several already.

Too right. I am sick to death of these personal attacks on FK's looks.

Agreed. She looks great for a 63 year-old.

Because I want to voice my view that we have had enough personal attacks on her looks. Which clearly some other posters agree with.

I've never got the impression thaat Felicity assumed she'd be good at this. It was the media and everyone else that was bigging her up. I've always found her quite self-deprecating.

And I'm sure she's very happy for Pamela

I can see how the nose and mouth twitching might annoy some viewers though. But I guess I could pick out annoying habits or traits in all the contestants.

I'm sorry if I have repeated a thread, I'm a lurker on here and hadn't seen the other threads.

I agree with what some other posters have said about Pam, she looks fabulous and appears to be loving the entire experience.

Whatever Felicity K says, it is pretty certain that she has had a face-lift, not merely botox. Afraid I agree with the poster who finds her mannered in the extreme - I have never been able to enjoy her acting because of this. To me she is like a strange unreal doll.

'Fliss' was on Breakfast a couple of months back plugging something, before SCD was even muted. I didn't notice the facial expressions then, however now they are quite off the scale.

I don't think it is so much nervousness, but merely an affectation. She was on The One Show yesterday, each time she put her hands to her face, and she did often, she seems to have the hands of someone older than 62, they are so very wrinkly and somehow at odds with her face. They do say that no matter how much you have done to your face. the hands always give the game away when it comes to age.

I find myself not listening to a word she is saying, but trying to fathom out this woman and why she thinks she needs the gurning, scrunching of the nose, lip licking and hair flicking.

OMG! Yes, I am always focused on her constant gurning. I could never quite figure it out. I find it very distracting because she does do it a lot and it detracts from her interviews.

However I still think she looks great for her age whether or not she's had work.

You're right! I remember those actressy facial expressions.

Yeah, we all know that, blah, blah. My point was that if such a threads cause some fans such angst why bother to join in unless you're Felicity herself in disguise, or her overpaid agent?

No one says they have to read them, but no amount of whining and tantrums is going to stop people posting them!

Ignore them Killer S. There are always those who run about telling us what we can and can't think and what we should and shouldn't post. It keeps them occupied or something....

Say what you like! It is a public forum and your opinion is as valid as anyone else's. Ignore the bullies!

Fllissity has a great figure, but sadly she's no Honor Blackman! HB is what I call a really beautiful older woman, and she's older than Flissity.

Sadly this age of the "celebrity" some people find it hard to grow old gracefully and resort to the knife and injections of fat or rat poison to try and look younger than their years. It can work, or it can be a total disaster creating a mask to the real person.

Perhaps its me but I'd far rather see a few wrinkles and lines which give character to a face (to match hands and arms) with a relaxed and happy person there, rather than somebody who is presenting a false image to their true self. Don't get me wrong, it can work for a while, but where do you draw the line? Once celebs take that route some cannot stop and then become a slave to plastic surgery and end up looking so false and it becomes distracting, whereby people notice the plastic surgery as it is distracting and unnatural, rather than appreciate the person inside.

And some posters have a right to say otherwise if they like. That's the beauty of this place.
