And if we believed everything we read in The Sun (and other red tops/gossip mags) it means that Tess, Claudia, Lilia and Ola have been pregnant more times than it's feasibly possible to be and between them must now have 110 children

Lisa Snowdon is far better know than he was. She was the Host of Briain's Next Top Model at the time she took part.

I by no means believe everything I read in The Sun. Quite the opposite in fact.
If they have direct quotes from the person, not a 'source', or other journalistic ploy to put words in someone elses mouth then it seems more believable than some of the other 'stories' they run.

I just think he seemed ungrateful, you probably wouldnt see other winners being derogatory about it.

So right! I never liked his dancing - too much of a show off- he should never have won

But as I said earlier the interview was conducted by COMEDIAN Scott Capurro (who does not write for the sun) and was therfore most likely tongue in cheek and by the sounds of it, at a comedy show.

You're having a laugh, right?

Are you really telling me that a short-run show on Living, a small satellite and cable channel, gets more viewers than a continuing series on BBC One?

Sorry, but the ratings really don't back up your argument ...

Yeah, I read it and the only thing I take as even half truthful are the direct quotes from him. Even those could be manipulated, it is The Sun and anyone who truly believes that rag is living in a fantasy world. That said, say it was all true that he said all that. So what? It's everything I've always believed anyway lol. Of course they're really competitive. Of course they're told to appear friendly with each other. Of course they're told to smile and simper to the audience. The public have very high expectations of how they should act and if they're caught in a truthful moment that us normal people have everyday without being labelled evil, they'll be dragged over the coals for it. It is fake to a degree and anyone who doesn't think so is kidding themselves. It's televised entertainment lol.

Oh and I believe that every television presenter is a robot to a degree lol. They're supposed to appear friendly and easy going but in reality those people don't get those jobs without being willing to step on their grandmother on their way. It's properly competitive, the world of television. I can't get over that people are surprised by that.

Also, it's so obvious that when you get a good natural dancer (this year, Pamela, Scott, Matt, Kara) that they know it and have to come out with the same old nonsense about 'oh no I've never had any dancing experience, this is so new to me' because some of the public will go on about how it's unfair, they shouldn't be in it blah blah blah. The only time I really feel that's true is if one of them has been trained by an actual professional ballroom/latin dancer. In this series, that applies to Matt but so what? I can get over it if the producers can.

Yeah I can imagine him smiling as he said it, still think he's a bit of an idiot though to be honest!

I stick with my own views on him, and also think that something has to have been said to have been reported.”

Why does it have to have been said? The Sun has form for making up stories (and 'quotes'). Ask Elton John.

Who is the source? Who got these quotes? It certainly wasn't a Sun reporter otherwise it would have been in the paper before now.

I can't help but get the impression that you believe this story because it confirms the image of Tom you have chosen to believe. Which is, of course, your prerogative - but the target for this story isn't Tom, or Strictly: it's the BBC. Rupert Murdoch wants the BBC dramatically downsized so it doesn't even make the likes of SCD and rubbishing the show is part of that strategy.

What an incredible fuss about nothing!

'It's fake!' - yes, it's light entertainment and they're plastered in Ronseal
'We had to smile all the time!' - yes, good advice about being on camera all the time
'I had to pretend I couldn't dance!' - his Fred Astaire homage was already a YouTube hit, so we all knew he could dance tap and jazz beforehand. Surely there must have been moaning on the lines of 'he's a ringer'? After all, this is DS.
'Craig is really a pussy-cat!' - that's obvious from ITT and other backstage VTs. His job is to be the pantomime villain and everybody knows it, so why is this news?
'Tess is a robot!' - and this is news? By the way, Queen Victoria's dead.
'We had to pretend to like each other!' - do you like everybody you work with? Probably not, but you grin and bear it because you've got a job to do.

Totally agree that Murdoch has an agenda to bash the BBC at every opportunity and that the Sun is not exactly famed for its accurate reporting. I wasn't a fan of Tom, but really this is a non-news story.

PS - Kmc1978 - have nominated you for post of the day. Genius!

If someone is ooky enough to want to read an interview in The Sun then my advice would be to utterly ignore the crap written around the quotes and just read the quotes directly. That way you can make up your own mind without all the manipulative bullhooky that the Sun writers spew making up your mind for you. And even then, it's all about the quotes they choose to include. It's such a joke that rag lol. I can't believe how often people fall for it.

I was not heard of either of them when they came to Strictly BUT I am sure that a whole lot more people watch Holby than Britains Next Top Model.

Lisa Snowdon was a TV presenter before that, was getting a million plus listeners on Capitol and was known very well for her relationship with George Clooney. She was also appearing in a number of ad campaigns for Marks & Spencer at the time.

Never heard of her and only because she was advertising for Avon at the time did I twig at all. Never watched Top Model & like the majority of the UK don't listen to Capital Radio so seriously wondered who on earth Lisa was. Did know who Jodie was and Tom was a regular on my TV EVERY Tuesday

I agree..totally. Tom just appears to be "stating The Bleeding Obvious". Do any of his comments surprise regular viewers of SCD ?

Tom Chambers is by far the worst winner.
I absolutely loathed him on the show. Him winning was a bad end to a terrible series.

Worst in what way? That you didn't like him? Fair enough. But in terms of ability surely one of the best.

If you don't mind me asking, what's your opinion of Tom Chambers as the 'worst winner' got to do with the Sun article?
