This has been going on since I got my first iPod but it appears to be getting worse. I now have almost 10,000 tracks in my iTunes library but am still always looking for new albums to put on and stuff I may have forgotten to put on already.
I have OCD ways of playing with my Playlists and ensuring that I develop the best Playlist by artist dependent on the best tracks being the most played. This requires spending hours pouring over my iPod ensuring everything is in order and making sure all tracks have the appropriate cover and information.
If I don't play my iPod for at least two hours a day I feel upset and have to be playing with my iTunes library before going to sleep all night to ensured it is updated.

Is this a common affliction amongst those that love music? I used to spend hours putting my CD's in chronological and genre order so it seems this habit has just transferred from there to my iPod

Any fellow 'sufferers'?

Well, it's not quite the same but since buying an iPod Touch last year I have started legally buying my music, and a lot of it xD.
I used to illegally download it, not really thinking about how it wasn't legit but after getting a taste of the legal music (getting the artwork with it, the actual audio being supreme quality and a choice of various mixes of the song) I suddenly saw how bad it was to illegally download it.

The disadvantage is that it makes you a little bit obsessed with chart positions when you should really just enjoy the music.

I spent a bit of time of editing info of my songs or whatever on Itunes. It bugs me. I am organized person. Things just have to be the way i want them. Gotta be the right genre. The right album, artist and name of songs of course.

Never look at the charts, I kinda like bands that don't chart and remain a minority interest just so that if anyone asks I can bamboozle them by saying I'm listening to The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart's new single or the debut album 'meanwhile back in communist russia'.
I believe 'Admit It!!!' by Say Anything might have been written about me

I wish you hadn't mentioned genre- that really is a nightmare

Omg it really is

Florence is under Alternative. It came up like that on the album and to me it seemed right. I don't know a deffinate genre for Florence. Same with No doubt and Paramore. Paramore is listed as alternative. No doubt is Rock. But No doubt were no more rock then what Bon Jovi is so it seems a crime to have them listed as Rock. Ladyhawke is listed as Eletronic which i am on the fence about.

Itunes are really annoying at the moment. Every time i get a new album and upload, it recognises it as House & Dance. Very annoying.

It annoys me when I have to correct official mistakes, like typo's or incorrect genres. *Cough* Pixie Lott, Cheryl Cole and Tinie Tempah's album *Cough*.

Some albums i have put in have had no info at all. While it only took me 10 mins to add it, i really shouldn't need to anyway.

No Doubt - Ska Punk
Paramore - Pop Punk
Ladyhawke - ??New Wave/Synth Pop

Actually I'm not that familiar with Ladyhawk, what should I check out?

I got a demo CD off a member of Bridgette Aphrodite after a gig and that sure was a pain to add.

My delirium is often recognised as her best known song if you fancy a listen.

Just heard it and hey; that's quite nice in a 1980's way. Shame about the vocal mix though, production like that annoys me
