After ITT I get the distinct impression that Alesha doesnt like Jimi and personally I hope the feeling is mutual...

I used to be happy to get 7.....yeah right that happened SUCH a lot when Alesha was dancing

That was a daft remark. The only time she got a seven as I recall was for her first dance and even then it was a lonely score accompanied by three eights. Alesha sweetie you're giving your detractors ammunition again. Don't do that. They're perfectly capable of finding it by themselves .

She made similar comments in the results show, and I didn't much like the feeling I got then, either.

I was a bit peeved when she also more or less said that Tina got an 8 for being ill the week before

I've really no problems with Jimis 7's or other marks as I think they aren't too far wrong, but get more annoyed at other less technically perfect dances getting the same or higher.

Do not shoot me I am only the messenger - I always get the Sun on Monday for Arlene's marking and comments on the dancing. I know she is the queen of mean but I do respect her opinions. Here is her comments:

Jimi and Flavia - It lacked one of the most important things in the Charleston - the twisty feet. Too many props.
It was very cheery but the routine was so fancy it disguised the fact that the Charleston has a technique and there wasn't much of it. Her mark 6.

I am only pointing out re the judges marking she agrees with Craig. Most of the other markings were more or less the same as the judges. She loves Patsy's improvement and Kara's footwork - amazing.
Her mark of 9 goes to Matt & Aliona.

I saw that too, but more important than the mark Arlene gave was where she placed Jimi. She had him higher than Tina and Michelle if I'm not mistaken. That's the issue here - his placing on the leaderboard.

Hi Sid

Arlene had Tina on six, Michelle five and Patsy seven.

Hey you

And that's reasonable.

She had Jimi above Michelle and at least on a par with Tina. He was placed below both of them on Saturday.

Actually Jimi got the same score as Michelle - 27 so must have been on a par with her on the leader board.

It's hard to believe now that at one time I used to really like Alesha. Not just her dancing on SCD, it was that infectious laugh, and she seemed modest as well as being extremely attractive..almost "one of the lads". Now she seems so "up herself" it's not true.

I agree. I cant believe that I used to feel sorry for her in her year... Just think if the judges hadn't been all over her in 2007 and she had won, we now wouldnt be subjected to her judging... and by the way how can she judge "Charleston technique" coz she never did it... or am I halluccinating here!?

Did Bruno, Len or Craig dance Charleston before?

I may not agree with her marking (e.g. Tina's got an eight for being sick the week before springs to mind), but she's an okay judge, not very good, but not diabolically bad either.

No, but they will be much more familiar with the Charleston and its technical requirements because they have spent most their lives immersed in the world of dance - whether it be performing, watching or choreographing. They know the different styles of dance inside out. By contrast, Alesha did a 12 week crash course in Ballroom and Latin. That's it.

If Alesha's there to empathise with the contestants and comment on the performance side of things, that's one thing. But she's out of her depth talking technique in my opinion.

I agree it's not that he's under marked it's that others are over marked so compromising his position on the leader board. What is also totally unfair is the unrelenting negativity of his judges comments compared to others. This in my view is setting him up for failure.
Alesha lacks any credibility as a judge which is why she is so sensitive to any critical remarks re her judging. Jimmy has attracted her ire because of his defense of his work when she has been so critical.

Him and Flav are working hard again so I hope this time he gets a little more encouragement from the judges for his efforts.

Tweet from Jimi earlier today :
Quote:
“Working very hard with @flaviacacace this week want to put in a good performance for you guys x”

And now one from Flavia :
Quote:
“@JimiMistry is working SO hard on the technique this week it's crazy, sure it will be worth it. X”
