Pamela and James Tango – music choice.

23-10-2010
First things first, Pamela is one of my favourites this year, so this isn't a bashing thread, which isn't my style anyway. But, as well as I thought she danced tonight, I was put off by the choice of music. For me, music and musicality is crucial to any dance. It's just my personal opinion, but I felt the music was the wrong tempo, and detracted from the overall shine of the whole package. I'm not saying I expect traditional tango music, I thought there were some brilliantly unusual choices for tango music that worked very well tonight indeed, particularly Scott's. But I felt James's choice just sort of lacked 'punch'.

Anyone else think the music just didn't work?

Yeah I agree, I felt that she couldn't get connected to the music this week.

Great point, as that is something she normally does very well, is connecting to the music and expressing musicality. Actually, very few Strictly contestants have managed this imo. Whilst I thought her tango was good, I don't think it was her best dance, so perhaps this is why maybe.

I think some of the music choices all round this series have been diabolical

Oh, I love that song, if they couldn't make it work it's their fault, it's a great song!

Loved the dance, didn't really like the song choice...I htink it was a difficult one to 'connect' with so to speak...
