Buy now or wait?
I'm pondering whether or not to bite the bullet and buy a 37" Freeview HD Sony Bravia KDL37EX403U. I can get it for £425 right now on Amazon.
Is this a good price or should I wait until after christmas? |

Always a chance you take whenever you buy but remember VAT increase to 20% in the new year

you could get a bigger TV for less. And if you wait, the price will probably come down. Personally, I would go for at least 40"
but the point is you will most certainly get value for money out of the TV. It will last years, and give you lasting enjoyment - so dont worry too much about whether you can save £20 or so. I paid £1300 for a Hitachi 42". Previously non-HD plasmas had been several thousand - so this was a bargain when I got it. It doesnt have a freevierw tuner, and it only has 1 HDMI input. But even though I could replace it for about £500-600 now, we never regretted getting it. Thats just the way prices go sometimes. |

£425 for a 37 inch Sony Bravia with Freeview HD is an excellent buy. I bought a Sony Bravia KDL46W4500 in 2008 and paid £1650 for it (got a free BLURAY DVD player thrown in). but as another member mentioned, take a look at wots available in John Lewis.

Just got a Samsung 40" with Freeview HD and 5 year guarantee from John Lewis for £499 for our daughter (not a bad swap!
) Could have got the same model for £449 from Richer Sounds or elsewhere but more expensive with their guarantee. The guys who installed it for her said that prices of 3D TVs are tumbling fast. They said you could get a 50" Samsung with 3D and Freeview HD with 3 pairs of 3D glasses and a 3d/HD Blue Ray player for under £1000 at the moment. £2000 less than 6 months ago! |
