I do agree up to a point but I still feel it lacked a wow factor - Matts was much more entertaining !!!

I LOVED IT, I actually thought for one moment that a professional had come in and got confused (sadly doesnt take me much). I thought it was thrilling I loved it and so did my two grandkids both boys one 7 and the other 11. They thought she was great......and they watched it all. They liked Matts too I have to say but I preferred Karas version.

I loved it too. I thought her footwork was excellent. She was the only one with the swivels and double bounce. Some tried it but not all the time. Scott's tango was also excellent.

Have to agree, I loved it too. It was a bouncy, cheeky little dance - best dance of the night IMO.

I thought a bit dull & ordinary - as you say no wow factor!

The front runners are clearly making a move away from those who aren't keeping up.

Kara, Matt and Scott are excellent to watch. But there are a few dark horses - Tina, Pamela, Jimi who have the potential to pull off a really good week and become more noticed.

It's actually a high quality show this year and very entertaining!

Part of what makes a dance good is the ability to provoke a reaction from the viewer. All I felt from Kara was boredom.I didn't feel that she was enjoying it and the choreography was uninspiring.

Agree with all of that. I would even put some of the female pros into the category of those who tried it, but didn't get the swivel and bounce all of the time.

I do think the song and choreography made it difficult for her to really wow with it (for pure entertainment) among the other very frantic and slapstick Charleston routines. I get the feeling it was put together by the Charleston couple rather than Artem?? I quite liked the cool and sassy jazz feel to the routine, but I think there were too many slow moves placed together towards the end.

I can see the judges point with the lack of pizazz, but I found it very annoying that the judges also mostly ignored how good her actual dancing and technique was in the dance. Especially as they ignored flaws in the routines above her. She was much better than they gave her credit for in my opinion.

Tara did very well. Even she admitted that she wasn't sure about the dance. She's very watchable and as a dance couple they have the ability to WOW. Maybe not every dance suits every couple, nor every audience member ?

I think what made it better than all the other Charlestons is that it was dancing all throughout. No unicycles, no windows, no gurning like a moron. As far as Charlestons go, it was pretty great and IMO the best of the night. I wasn't blown away by it (wasn't blown away by any dance last night) but I put that down to the fact that I hate the Charleston.

Kara's Charleston was the best of the night for me and was undermarked......

Every time Kara dances I recognize that she's really good, and her routines are near perfect, but she doesn't elicit any emotion in me. There's something a little clinical and sterile about the performances. I don't know if that's her fault, her partner, the choreography, or me, but as soon as she's done I've completely forgotten her dance.

I enjoy watching Kara dance, partly because she makes it look so easy, but that can count against you when the 'energy' look is what a lot of people look for.

Any dance that provides a respite from the Strictly "house style" that's settled in in recent years of running around shouting and bulging your eyes out is welcome with me. I thought it stood out in an evening of coked-up sweaty gurning, and was most annoyed that the judges seemed to want to make her conform to everyone else's style. People are being praised for pulling the most idiotic faces (Pamela springs to mind), probably because this is what they think the public find entertaining.

I think she does need to work on her connection with Artem, but I like the respite from all the OTT hammery (which she proved she could do if she wanted with her Quickstep)

I admired Kara's dance but I don't think it had the entertainment factor of Matt's.

Kara kind of reminds me of Ali last year - she was technically great but somehow was lacking the pizazz/wow factor some of you are talking about on here.

I thought it was odd last year, what with Ali being an actress, and Kara seems to be going down the same route.

I loved her Charleston though, and really hope that the dream I had last night in which she was eliminated wasn't a premonition. I was so convinced she really had gone I almost snuck a peek in the spoiler thread!

Kara isnt quite the wet fish that Ali was though......I dont think she is going to have a problem with fast latin generally her Cha Cha was hampered by her slipping.

Totally agree with this.

Kara's Charleston was fabulous. Their timing together as a couple is excellent and all their 'mirror' images are brilliant!

I like Kara and want her and Artem in until the final if poss (Ok, mainly for Artem ) - there were just a few moments where I was reminded of Ali - technically excellent but lacking in performance.

But I much prefer Kara to Ali.

And now I'm going to get lynched by the B & A app club.
