Kdl-46x4500
Colleagues
. I am so impressed with this HD LCD screen. Most impressive are the blacks which are superbly dark for an LCD. The de-iterlacing seems pretty good to me too. Colour-wise the whites are superb and with the extended gammut turned on the colours are strong without being gaudy and there is a lot of separation between similar colours. . In general I watch SD as the available choice of HD is limited of course. Programmes that were originated in HD stand out showing that the extra detail does make a difference even after the down/up conversion. What I also notice is that in an SD equipped multi-camera studio I can sometimes easily pick out shots from one camera because it has a softer or less well adjusted picture. If you have ever watched SD on an HD screen and felt that the result is poor then get a look at one of these panels - it does SD a real service. What do other people think who have used this screen? |

It's an expensive old model, so it should be pretty good - the X series were the top end Sony's, and even the cheaper Sony's had decent scalers.
