But I find him very likable - he so hates being crap, he knows he is, and he has no idea how to be better, even though he's trying. I like how he doesn't play the usual game of saying how much fun he's having or going for sympathy. He's approaching this like he would sport - totally the wrong approach for winning reality TV, but weirdly endearing to me, I think because I find it honest.
If Katya could get though to him, or if they get the mythical acting coach in, and he has a break-through I'd be thrilled, I really wish for that, but I don't really think he will.”
Well said. I think of him as an amiable, if a bit dim-witted, hunk. He's not totally useless at dancing (although the tango was not his finest hour) and I, too, admire his honesty, which I find endearing because it is just SO the wrong approach. He clearly loves himself (and has said as much), but I also like that he makes no secret of his love of spray tan and grooming products. But his image-consciousness is what is getting in his way. He has somehow to let himself go and not be afraid to make a fool of himself. It's almost a shame he didn't get the Charleston this week as he would have had to find his inner clown.
I don't think he's the sharpest knife in the drawer, mind you, and I haven't voted for him, but am I wrong to have enjoyed it when Katya ripped his shirt open a couple of weeks ago? Sigh.
