I didn't mind something like Felicity sitting by the judges as if being picked up by Vincent, as they very quickly went into the dance. But generally the props bits seem to get in the way and go on for ages. With most of them, I feel that as an audience member I'm being patronised and treated like an idiot.

It's the same with lifts, they get a big 'woo' and are talked about as big vote winners, when they often seem to me like watching awkward weightlifting and are rarely as impressive, imo, as someone dancing well.

But I did think Matt and Aliona's charleston worked, even though I thought I was going to hate it when I saw their costumes. I thought it was a brave thing to do, and I'd like to see her coming up with some less gimicky things but I did think they were good.

I am dreading what they're all going to do for Halloween.
