It's a new page, came across it today and to my understanding, it has just been set up today:

I would totally be supporting this! The Ultimate Christmas song imho, travesty it got #2 in the UK charts when it was released, it was good it got #1 in Ireland, but it sooo deserved #1 in Uk too! Shows the true meaning of Christmas song! I'll defo be supporting! Who else?

Well,i'm listening to The Best Of The Pogues just now and that song is on it.So it gets my vote.
It'd be nice to have, such a genuinely Christmassy song, with real talent at No 1 for a change.

This year the X-Factor will win simply because there's too many campaigns against it.

Well out of all these campaigns, it's easily the most deserving song, but it's come too late this time.

Agree with above - there's too many of these campaigns this year. It was probably inevitable with everyone now wanting a piece of the pie since Rage last year. It's a shame because now when X Factor inevitably gets the Xmas no.1 this year, they'll make it out to be more of an 'achievement'.

Are you sure it's dated 2010? It might be the Fb campaign from last year, or 2008, or 2007, or.... (I'm sure you get the picture).

As fantastic a song as it is, it's never gonna get to number 1 whilst X-Factor or any derivative is around. Either XF will get the top spot, or all the competing campaigns will crowd it out. The only way FONY is ever likely to be Christmas No. 1 is in a year whe there are no campaigns and people buy what they genuinely want to, not what they're told to.

The song is too good to be used in a silly campaign.

Here's an idea - if you don't want the XF single getting to number one, just don't buy it! I say this as someone who is sick of XF number ones but I'm growing more cheesed off at the sheep mentality of these campaigns than anything XF related.

Can't disagree with that, although just not buying the XF single won't stop all the sheep who will do so anyway.

The Rage campaign last year was fantastic because it was a vehicle for all music fans to send a big MESSAGE to Simon Cowell that we are sick to death of his glorified karaoke show and thinking he can control the charts and we can't do anything about it.

The couple who started that campaign said at the time they wouldn't be doing another similar campaign because the whole point was - as I said - to send a message to Cowell. But the bad thing about the Rage campaign is that we now have all these web warriors wanting a piece of the pie and thinking they can all do the same, hence we are getting so many campaign attempts this year.

I don't think it has anything to do with the X-Factor though. I was reading the info section of the page and it said that they were doing it because this December would be the 10th anniversary of Kirsty MacColl's death. I don't think it has anything to do with the X-Factor. It would be a very apt Christmas No.1 because it would be a nice tribute to Kirsty. Even though it got no.1 in Ireland, Kirsty would probably have loved for it to got no.1 in the UK too because she's English isn't she? She sounds English in the song anyway But yeah count me in. If enough people join we can do this! But how many people would have to join the page for it to get a no.1 and when would we have to buy the song???
