It's a new page, came across it today and to my understanding, it has just been set up today:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Fairy-...4275888?v=wall

I would totally be supporting this! The Ultimate Christmas song imho, travesty it got #2 in the UK charts when it was released, it was good it got #1 in Ireland, but it sooo deserved #1 in Uk too! Shows the true meaning of Christmas song! I'll defo be supporting! Who else?

Top song, much better than any song the xfactor will come up with

far too many campaigns for this .. they'll all dilute each other and it'll just end up with the x factor song getting to number one.

You are right that the campaigns are diluted. Last year it was a unique event but this year it won't work. Having said that I would support this one, as long as it isn't Ronan Keating's version!

Hard to believe he is still alive and Kirsty not, what were the odds of that.

What is it with all these Xmas number ! campaigns/? They're almost as bad as the XF.

Great song. I'd be happy to support it at Christmas.

I've never liked this song, TBH. Sounds like pub karaoke to me.

I don't think it has anything to do with the X-Factor though. I was reading the info section of the page and it said that they were doing it because this December would be the 10th anniversary of Kirsty MacColl's death. I don't think it has anything to do with the X-Factor. It would be a very apt Christmas No.1 because it would be a nice tribute to Kirsty. Even though it got no.1 in Ireland, Kirsty would probably have loved for it to got no.1 in the UK too because she's English isn't she? She sounds English in the song anyway But yeah count me in. If enough people join we can do this! But how many people would have to join the page for it to get a no.1 and when would we have to buy the song???

Me too...hugely overrated (and I'm a fan of the late Kirsty)

It will still make the top 10 anyway, along with that Mariah tune..

Ughhh--no way. This is the worst Christmas song ever I cringe every time I hear it on the radio.

I'd rather hear The Eagles & Please Come Home For Christmas.Don Henley has a fantastic voice

So joining this and suggested it to about 90 friends.

We need to spark this shit up by december, that song deserved a UK #1

This, like many others, is my favourite Christmas song ever. In fact, it's one of my favourite songs!

I quite like the fact it's never been Number 1 and I don't thik it should be. Like someone else on the thread said, following some Facebook campaign to get a song to Number 1 is no better than following the X Factor.

Keep the Pogues off number 1 I say!

Good choice, if this goes ahead it would be at least a proper Christmas song in the charts again!

I hate the song with a passion.

I'm not gonna lie, I dislike this song very much! However I would buy it because, afterall, it is a Christmas song, and I'd rather a Christmas song as the Christmas #1 than random rubbish like 'Bird Is The Word' or that stupid silent 'song'!

Nearly 300 members! It certainly is picking up momentum!

Yeah, they're all going to get a small following, not enough to beat the X Factor, and ultimately fail. Hopefully if one 'emerges' and is advertised on the radio like the RATM campaign, people will all support that one instead of stubbornly sticking to their various groups.

I've always loved this song but as quite a few have said, the more 'let's get this to number 1' campaigns there are, the less chance they have of doing what they were designed to do in the first place (in stopping Cowell flooding the charts). This song never gets played in full now anyway as the words are bleeped out in case they 'offend'.

I absolutely detest "get this tune to No1" petitions, but for this song i will join.

I like the song but at lot of people already have this. A lot of people may not be willing to buy it again.

I'm tempted to get a facebook page created to help get "Another rock n roll Christmas" to the No 1 spot this Xmas instead of the X factor winner.

And no I am not talking about the version which that nonce scum Glitter released. I'm talking about the Iron Maiden version .
