There was no "attack" at all, you stating that you thought she sung live whilst the evidence is all to the contrary is typically the viewpoint of a fan that idolises her.

Please re-listen and watch it closely - whilst the performance was good, the singing aspect wasn't.
You can't tell someone their opinions. Unless anyone here has sufficent evidence then it is pure speculation on whether it was live or not. Personally I thought it was a great performance and I believe that she sang a fair bit live.

Also the attacking here is awful. Just because someone has a positive view on something doesn't make them the artists biggest fan. You seriously need to calm down.

And likewise you can't say someone, "you love her so your opinion is bull". If you hate them then isn't your opinion bull as well because your also biased? (This part is aimed at everyone FYI not just the originally quoted poster).

Seriously can't we have a civil discussion without the whole "you're wrong I'm right" crap?

that's what i thought!!! but everyone is so stabby when it comes to Cheryl, i thought that she was stronger vocally than Radio One's Live Lounge and Big Weekend but also she was lost for breath a lot! but she got through and the routine actually had my mouth on the floor!

sure i have seen fantastic HUGE performances in my time so i know what i am speaking about, and that was a good show on Sunday like it or not!

anyways, i am excited for Christina performing this year...she'll show everyone how it's done
Me too, roll on woo lol!

Don't like it? Leave then. No-one is forcing you to say here. And it was far from an attack in my eyes, he was just trying to open the eyes of the stupid fans who still think she sung live... jokers!

I'm not going to leave because you tell me to. In my eyes and the other posters clearly it was an attack. Fact is people can have other opinions so you should stop throwing your toys out the pram. And you're not being so mature are you? "stupid fans". You keep presuming because someone gives praise they must be a massive fan. Do you not understand that someone can make a positive comment about someone without being a fan? Read my last post again, maybe you might take more undestanding next time. I was trying to be calm and civil but clearly that is beyond posters like you.

I watched it and there was definitely miming involved. I think she gave a good performance though.

Thing is it's not a good position to be in when people are always debating whether your performance is live or not. People wouldn't be having this discussion if Leona was performing or Beyoncé for example. What she needs to do is perform live consistently then people wouldn't be wondering whether she's gonna perform live or not.

Its disgraceful that Cheryl Cole can mime on the X-Factor and then have the cheek to judge other acts that sing live.

I really enjoyed Cheryl's performance of 'Promise This'. I liked the lightning stage effect at the beginning and I thought the dancing was great. Cheryl's vocals have improved since her X Factor rendition of 'Fight for this love'. I thought the bit where she walked behind the judges' seats was great, too.

Good performance, but the singing quality is as much down to the wonders of autotune as anything else.

There is an element of hypocrisy within the X factor. Simon and Louie have a background in artist development and management, so deserve their place there. Danni had a reasonably successful recording career (and some tracks were damn good), but Cheryl is there due to her surprising popularity. But then we live in a world where Jordan is popular for no particularly good reason.

The hypocrisy is down to expecting the artists to dance and sing live, when a good number of the guest acts won't do it, and Cheryl can't - and her people have basically admitted to it.

I came on the music forum for a totally different reason but read this thread.

Cheryl CAN'T sing, she is atrocious.

She would be a great backing dancer, but she is a TERRIBLE PATHETIC singer who is only there because she won a competition and married a footballer. Otherwise Mollie from the Saturdays, or someone similar would be on the judging panel.

Personally I would have more respect for someone from Bananarama's opinions than CC

It seems idolising a god has the same effect on manufactured music fans - their brains simply shut down to rationale and reason.

The way I see it is, bad music is like ciggies. I enjoy them. I know they're bad for me but I smoke 'em anyway. When it comes to a bit of bad music, it's the same kinda thing. I like it, I know it's bad music but I'll listen to it anyway.

I don't like Chery Cole's music at all. For me, it's simply too sh*te, but even if I were to like one of her songs, I'd have the sense to realise that whilst I'm enjoying it, I do know it's god awful!

She was lip syncing. From the first verse it's very obvious as you can't hear her breath into the microphone, you would be able to hear it if she was singing live since she was dancing.
For somebody who sings like this standing completely still

I'm not sure how you can support her.
