Surprised EastEnders didn't hold up as well against Emmerdale. Good for Corrie, could hit 9m with HD included. Is this a sign that it should take 8pm on Thursdays full time? ITV need to bite the bullet and axe the 6th Emmerdale now - it was just about acceptable when it aired on Sunday, but ever since it's been a hindrance. Axe that, move Corrie to 8pm on Thursday and see how it goes from there.
Strong, but standard, for I'm a Celebrity. Unfortunately low for Misfits, shame really. ITV News' revamp in November 2009 was such a foolish move. Before, News at Ten had been growing well and was respected in its own right. It looked professional and authoritative, with a serious, distinct studio, and it performed well in the BGT finals week (in 2009). This year it hasn't done so well with huge lead-ins and the reason is clear. Abolishing what was a great format for ITV News (across all bulletins) for the cheap TV-news-in-a-carpark look has really put people off. It really is embarrassing. 2.9m ain't bad though, one of its better ratings, though the lead-in is huge so that's a given really. |

Thanks for the roundup DMN. I am looking forward to watching Beeny's show on Sky+, and am glad it rated well.
Great rating for Corrie, even if the episode was pretty sloppy. |

I loved The Inbetweeners, but just didn't get on with Misfits. Neither are aimed at my demographic. |

Watchdog very robust against IACGMOOH but both HIGNFY and Reggie damaged quite badly...they must attract a similar demographic to the ITV show, whereas WD's is different.
Shocking for ITV News to be beaten easily by BBC News when you consider the respective inheritances. Good performance from the Beeney show on C4 but Secret Millionaire has lost its lustre. BBC2 will be concerned that Nigella's audience has slowly melted away throughout the series. Five are really hit and miss with their 8pm factual pieces on Thursdays. They did brilliantly with Extreme Airports a few weeks ago. But both Arnhem last week, and last night's Queen Elizabeth l doc performed abysmally. |

Bushmills, if you have yesterday's ratings, do you know how EastEnders did on BBC3?

IAC performing to my expectations- 8 to 9 million viewers is very good for a programme in a genre a lot of people have written off. Should it keep this up, then expect a new series next year. After all, ITV have played it smart with the show: 60-90 minutes a night on the main channel and an hour extra on ITV2. It's shown none of the overkill that did for BB.

Must be going back quite a bit. Emmerdale performed extremely well last night! Thought EE would have held up better in November, but a 1.5m gap is excellent and a comprehensive win over the BBC soap. IAC continues to perform well and looks like this series is going to be one of the best rated yet! Corrie is going to be hit by CIN tonight. Last year the episodes had 7.7m & 7.0m respectively, however this was the week Tony turned himself in after trying to kill Roy, so it was probs boosted by this storyline. I'm not expecting it to hold up as well this year IMO. |

Jason Manford was never the right person for the show, a young edgy comedian hosting such a cosy very-PC BBC show.
"Edgy" is one thing he definitely is not, though, which is presumably why ITV chose him for the dreadful, 1970s-esque Comedy Rocks (perhaps Comedy Rocking Chair would have been better!) earlier this year. Are ITV tied in to producing a full series of that, or is there still time for them to pull the plug on the plans, getting rid of Manford and a lousy format in one fell swoop? |

Lots of EastEnders fans caught out by the hour-long Emmerdale last night. Not really sure how things will go with hour-longs of both next Thursday. EastEnders got just over 6.5m for last year's November hour-long, against two ITV soaps, but it was a big episode with a wedding and a murder.

Next week's The One Show has Matt Baker presenting Monday to Wednesday, and Chris Evans the other 2 days.

I thnk it's time ITV1 ditched the sixth Emmerdale episode and this hour-long special could have been a waste of time if ratings were bad. Emmerdale performs well enough at 7pm, so why the extra episode? As has been pointed out, the Sunday episode is long gone and this overkill with episodes smacks of the brainless ITV1 scheduling of the mid noughties.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-11794466 Or, as Chris Evans seems happy to step in as stand-in host on non-Fridays, perhaps he'll get the gig full-time. |

I don't personally think people watch a news programme based on the set, but I do agree that the old News at Ten theme/studio was rather impressive. That said, I love the ITV News theme now!

I wouldn't be surprised if this became the permanent arrangement.

Which one of you is Kevin O'Sullivan then? I know he reads this thread, as he constantly references ratings on his Wright Stuff slot. And, of course, this is the best place to get the info so it must be here he's getting it from!
He was full of praise for C4's Any Human Heart this Sunday by the way. Interesting to see how that does ratings wise - it's been a good year for C4 drama so far with This is England (series average: 2.9m excluding +1) and the brilliant Mo (3.5m overnights, 4.0m officials, excluding +1). |
