You're right, in the final few months they showed it, in the spring of 2000. They were really rationing it in those days, presumably to drag down the figures since they were about to lose it - much like when the Beeb swapped aroud Neighbours and Doctors when Neighbours was about to go.

Million Pound Drop aside, another shocking night for C4....beaten by Five between 8pm - 10pm. This is a channel in intensive care.
Things just get worse for Daybreak. Presumably half-term isn't helping it this week - then again, BBC Breakfast's ratings seem to be unaffected. |

Mixed night last night it seems. BBC1 performed as solid as usual on Mondays and BBC2's 8pm hour performed excellently too. Horizon is a bit hit and miss depending on what the focus is.
Awful for Daybreak, but some expected it with half term. On the other hand Emmerdale keeps on getting better and better. Amazing share, highest Monday figure in months and not too far behind Corrie & EE compared to how it usually performs on Mondays. Have the trial episodes been advertised, because there's a severe lack of spoilers for Wednesdays huge episode and I didn't even know it was a big episode until I read it on the DS forums. Pretty average for Whitechapel. The first episode timeshifted excellently, but below 5m isn't really good enough. Real Crime doing well in its new slot though. Not the best of starts for MPD really, but it did have a weak lead in and 1.9m is much better than CH4 has been used to in the 10pm slot lately. Also will be interesting to see how Hollyoaks later did, because the main showing performed awfully-thought there might be a boost and with no E4 showings this week it will be interesting to see how the rest of the week performs. |

Solid evening for BBC1 and as usual BBC2 had a very strong 8-9pm hour last night. Quite low for Whitechapel which results in an overnight series average of 5.2m. Well down from last year's 7.6m overnight average. Timeshift has been hefty (almost +1.4m for episode 1) so the consolidated average should be 6.5m-ish which I would think should be enough for another series, but you never know.
Bad evening for Channel 4 apart from The Million Pound Drop which did okay. MPD had 2.2m (inc +1) for its first series opener and I was expecting it to rate at that level again or even slightly higher because by the end of the first series they had a bigger fanbase. The lead-in was poor though so it could rise in the next few days like the first series. Strong set of figures for C5 between 8-10pm, especially Paddy and Rory which I think is its highest rating yet. |

I can't remember this happening, as far as i can remember it wasn't until Neighbours left that BBC1 moved Doctors 25minutes earlier to make the most of the lead-in provided by the news. FIVE transferred Neighbours across to virtually the same time as it was on BBC1 13:45, it always started at 13:40 on BBC1.

Real Crime did especially well for ITV1, given that it was a repeat.
There's a big potential market for viewers for the channel post-News at Ten, but they won't spend any money there because it's outside peak. A real missed opportunity. |

On E4 Hollyoaks Later had a fairly strong 560,000 including +1 across the 9pm hour.
Better than I expected. But One Tree Hill was hit hard in a later 10pm slot, dropping from 448,000 to 279,000. |

Surprised it never went up from anyone expecting to see The Inbetweeners...
Who is watching this film every time it's on? It's not that good.

I think one of the reasons ITV don't spend money on post-NaT is because they use up all their allocated adverts before then, so there's no adverts in the post-NaT programme until 11pm. I guess their reasoning is: why spend a lot of money on a show when there won't be any adverts until half-way through it. But I agree with you that they could put more of an effort for that slot. Some of the stuff they show there are rating appaullingly, such as Swingtown which only had 0.7m the other week. |

BBC1's schedule for week beginning 6th November appears to now be confirmed on DigiGuide, no great surprises in there, as its the last in the series for a few shows in that week.

Has any other channel seen a rise in light of Daybreak/ITV Morning's demise?

It's been on top form recently, if ITV could simulcast it, they would close the gap on BBC Breakfast!! |

Why is Daybreak marked as a record low when it's been at 600,000 several times before ?

Quite decent for Hollyoaks, considering its current state, but it obviously has its loyal following. In theory tonights C4 episode should get ~1.5m due to no E4 showing.

Confirmed: Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards Wednesday, 10 November 2010, 8:00PM - 10:00PM And ITV1 to air Take That documentary in November: http://www.itv.com/presscentre/press...t/default.html With I'm a Celebrity on throughout the majority of November, I've no idea where that will end up going. My only guess is 7:30 to 8:30 on a Tuesday or Wednesday. |

So on Tuesdays C4 will be relying on their big names to drum up ratings. But Ramsay's shows seem to be waning in popularity, not helped by negative press about the financial difficulties his own chain of restaurants is experiencing. And is Kirstie as big a draw these days as she once was, especially minus Phil? Not sure. However C4 were absolutely right to keep Seven Days at 11pm. That show has been a disaster for them. |
