Like when many websites revamp content seems to go out of the window. There now seems to be just a handful of articles on Media Guardian a day compared to what they had with their last look.

Strange that neither Pillars nor The Event have any repeats during the week.”
Happens all too frequently with C4 - Pillars of the Earth is exactly the sort of show which should be getting a repeat on More4, rather than yet another chance to see Come Dine with Me.
Talking of More4, wonder how the Joan Rivers film will do tomorrow - though once again the True Stories films go out at 10pm. They should have given it a shot at 9pm tomorrow (go on, guess what's on at nine!) in what isn't a very competitive slot this week.

I wonder whether we could see The One Show being cut to 4 days and off-air in school holidays, with something else on Friday's at 7pm?
Edit: Final reports are here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbctrust/our_wo...views_tv.shtml”
So their "final report" says pretty much exactly what the initial report said months ago!

Even in the tabloids it's generally at most three pages a day - easily avoidable by just turning the page, just as those who supposedly hate the show can easily avoid it by changing the channel.

This has to be the success of the year for ITV. The lead in has definitely helped, but we all know a lead in isn't everything and the series could have easily averaged around 6m.”
So true - and off the back of Heartbeat it would probably have a different audience with different expectations too The pairing of The X Factor and Downton Abbey is a very good example of two contrasting programmings working together - and I rather suspect if it wasn't without the financial success of the former the latter may never have been made.
I hope too it gives confidence to ITV to commission more drama
series - I'm fed up with all these two and three parters and though commissioning a series may be riskier, long term a strategy reliant on short-form series is surely the bigger risk.

You won't have to imagine much longer - well not on Channel 5 anyhow now Dirty Desmond has got his hands on it.

Serves them right that ratings for ITV London in Scotland are said to be outstripping STV itself. The saddest thing is Scottish viewers are being fobbed off with films, imports and cheap documentaries - I don't think STV have made one original drama (other than Taggart) for their audience since they ditched most of the networked content.
