Today's Financial Times said the same too.
They had an article saying that "TXF Final weekend" was the UK equivalent of The Superbowl. I think they meant in terms of ITV charging top whack for ad slots, rather than it also being a drawn-out, overblown and overhyped spectacle, which takes up far too much of everyone's time, where not very much happens for a lot of the time, and a week later nobody can remember who won.

Excellent for BBC1.
One Show is on fire again - Christine who? Adrian who? That will be a relief for Danny Cohen, and a major disappointment for GeorgeS and everyone else at ITV.
EE is having a fantastic week, even without (I think?) any major storyline, unlike Corrie - which sunk alarmingly from its Monday night spike.
HIGNFY firing on all cylinders again, aided no doubt by ITV's latest flop (to answer the question "Monte Carlo or Bust?", I think the answer is very definitely "bust"), and that's two really strong episodes on the trot in qualitative terms. Rumours of it being past it are premature.
And a resurgence for Reggie. I hope this does find something of an audience for its last couple of episodes. I doubt it will return, but it's a travesty that such a well-conceived and executed show, which is truly very funny and well acted by an A-list cast, should have been getting sub 3m audiences. Something nearer to 4m is about acceptable, even if still slightly tragic.
Shame on you, British viewing public.
Good numbers for the Ch4 doc on the deficit. Not watched yet, but heard good things about it. It clearly caught the mood.
