Oh, and to answer an earlier question no BBC 2 repeat for The Road to Coronation Street but BBC 4 are repeating it twice on 4 Dec and early into 5 Dec as a nice run in to the ITV live episodes.

I guess its a mixed blessing promoting a big ITV event in this way by the beeb, but using the undoubted ITV success to help BBC 4 ratings.

Natasha Kaplinsky has stayed on for the 7pm bulletin at Five News to cover the story. Doing an outside broadcast just like Mary Nightingale on ITV1.

I suppose it is sort of an exclusive becuase of Tom Brady, but i suppose it was out of ITV's hands - Clarence House etc proabably wanted all the stations to have access to it - can you really imagine ITV giving that exclusive away? 7pm makes sense becuase it's following on from the news and BBC would have to move EE if they wanted ( and they proababy weren't allowed to show it before ITV) to show it at the same time, So benefits all parties really

Why would they wait to air the interview at 7.30pm when BBC One, Channel 5, BBC News and Sky News all screened it at 7pm? It would be pointless. And considering it's quite a coup for ITV to have their political editor do the interview I'm not at all surprised they moved Emmerdale for it.

A few lip sync problems on the Five News at 7pm outside broadcast - fixed now.

What was it up against last year?

I reckon it'll be somewhere in the 2m region this year because:
-It's Corrie's big one-50 years since the show started, a lot of hype and real event TV.
-The Apprentice isn't proving as resiliant to tough competition this year.

Why do you seriously hope that??? SCD has built up a lot of momentum this series and has finally got back on track. One of Corrie's biggest episodes of the year would severly dent SCD. Corrie & SCD share a lot of the same audience, so what would be the point??

And I really don't think ITV are that bothered about winning the yearly averages (they might be) but I don't think they're as bothered as us ratings fanatics on here are Obviously they will take note at falling/rising ratings, but as long as Corrie is performing for them then that's all that matters.

ITV Press Centre has updated and says that a factual programme, 'The Day John Lennon Died', will air on Monday 6th December at 9pm.

So, er, I'm not sure what's happening with the IAC: Coming Out Show! Nor what time exactly the final is airing!


It was up against The Bill which had 4.8m, airing an hour before the semi final of The Apprentice.

Emmerdale has improved it's ratings over the past few months so what do ITV do?

Clash Emmerdale against EastEnders in order to make Corrie fly ahead of EastEnders.

I need to ask... where on earth is Coronation Street going up against EastEnders?

There are no clashes at all to the best of my knowledge. So what's the issue?

Coronation Street is celebrating a monumental anniversary so obviously it's not going to be business as usual that week, yet it will be completely avoiding EastEnders throughout.

ITV did nothing to scupper EastEnder's live episode, even though I'm sure you predicted they would.

I'm unsure as to where your annoyance is stemming from, or why you believe the BBC should 'screw over' ITV. Double standards perhaps?

I wonder if the BBC or ITV will consider commisioning a documentary in the lead up to the wedding, it would be a fascinating watch and past Royal documentaries have done pretty well.

I don't see the problem - ITV have done a pretty good schedule - considering they can't clash against EE ( which is a good thing) and the football on the Wednesdays. There's only so many hours - so it was inevitable that Emmerdale was going to clash with EE a little. Your just annoyed that Emmerdale will come out top against EE cause it starts first.
