Emmerdale does not clash at all with EastEnders using my schedule.

This way

- Emmerdale keeps its 7pm slot and same number of episode hours
- EastEnders is unaffected (except by the IAC Coming Out show, but that's not a huge programme)
- Corrie's huge episodes are in consistent, central 9pm slots on Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri
- The anniversary shows air as build up to the big episodes (which should be the main event) and directly follow EastEnders
- The IAC final airs on Sunday
- ABBA gets the early evening slot it suits”

This is a beautiful fantasy schedule

Its a good schedule James. The thing is that scheudule is far too simple and logical for ITV.

Great for the C5 doc on Prince William and Kate. They should do things like that more often.

Quite low for the football and the breakdown suggests a lot of people turned off when The Apprentice started and actually beat it in the 9pm hour!

W&G back up from last week, benefiting from the weaker ITV competition, but the 8pm hour seems to be a flop now compared to how well everything else is doing in the schedules.

Very good for the William & Kate programme on CH5 considering it was a last minute adjustment-the news in the slot normally gets 0.2m, so for that adjustment to get 5x that is excellent! Ch5 should have more topical programmes in that slot relating to news.

Ugly Betty seems pretty low-it was getting around 1m at the start of the series.

Poor for Emmers 6.8m although no doubt HD and every last scraping of viewer from various broadcast methods will be added in but even with HD incl. it's still a low share. Early signs indicate that ITV's wisdom in pitting it against BBC One's EastEnders on Tuesday has had a lasting impact on its momentum across this week. Zoe hasn't even bothered to hype/dissect its ratings last night to death so it must be considered a below par rating.

Good rating for The Apprentice. For what it is. And how nice to see a classy 'reality' show on the box with what are in the main good decent people. There's far too much of a 'chav' aura in that genre so The Apprentice is a refreshing change from that and deserves to rate well.

Poor for the football.

What ARE you talking about??

7.1m for Emmerdale on a Wednesday with football following it is pretty normal so doesn't really need a big discussion on it.

And considering Emmerdale has been performing well over the last year is it wrong to comment on how well it's doing? Pretty much all the posters on here have done the same.

What a weird post... Also you seem to have taken the rating from one post and the share from another-picking the facts which suit you.

That's what happens when they put programmes suited to BBC Two, on BBC One.

7.7 million (31.4%) recorded by TF1.

To put it into perspective, that's the lowest rating since Blanc took over as manager and down 1.7m from the Luxembourg match in October.

Extremely good rating for the William & Kate special. They should do this sort of thing more often at 7pm, turn it into more of a current affairs slot. They already had one earlier in the year for the Chilean Miners. Other possible subjects could include, for example- Wayne Rooney, and more recently, the Chandlers'.

Good night for Emergency Bikers as well, outrating Neighbours slightly. Normally it's at or just under the 1m mark.

Has anyone else heard the rumour SCD will be extended/split on Xmas Day? Any idea when the provisionals will emerge?

I agree with that, if they did something nightly i think they would be on to a winner.

It looks as if Daybreak has settled at 800,000 and BBC Breakfast at 1.5 million - exactly back to where ITV started in September but £35 million later.

Great rating for The Apprentice. The football didn't do that well, I know it was against big competiton but only 6.3m for England vs France shows how much interest in England matches has fallen in the last couple of years.

I dont think there is any rumour but people, including myself, have predicted it will be different to a regular 60 minute show. To get 5 brand new decent name celebs and pay them well just for one hour's airing is a bit of a waste IMO.

I agree, they're good shows but not suited for 8pm BBC One. I think the first series of these shows only did well because there was little to no competition in the slots they were in.

If you add ITV1 HD into the ITV1 breakdown, then I think you'll find the football beat The Apprentice in the 9pm hour.

Considering the result, I don't think the football rating is that bad. OK, I imagine it would have been higher had England actually played well, but all considering and it was a friendly, I think it did OK.

Poor for BBC in the 8pm hour, and part of me is surprised Wallace and Gromit failed to beat the Football buildup.

The celeb pair ups in the Strictly Christmas special are so good that they deserve more than a one off.

It would be a waste not to extend - have two shows.

Spoiler

John Barrowman/Kristina Rihanoff, Vince Cable/Erin Boag, Fern Britton/Matthew Cutler, Ronni Ancona/Anton du Beke, June Brown/Vincent Simone.

I think the breakdown includes HD. The Breakdown averages out at 6.3m which is the full figure including HD.
