This is part of the X Factor format I really miss, I wonder why they've chosen not to have guest mentors this series?

I miss this too Maybe they'll start doing this soon. the themes have been too broad for guest mentors, imo.

I think they couldn't realy get any respected guest mentors as they think that the x factor is going to the dogs

They'll probably start using them once the numbers have been whittled down a bit.

After Elton John's recent views on the show I doubt it will ever return. Others like Robbie Williams and Michael Buble now appear to have a bigger stage to appear on - SCD.

Why do you all like it?? It was like one VT of them apparently imparting some wisdom.

But then dermot always talked to them on the lives when they performed and they didnt know who anyone was...so why do you all miss it so much??

I don't know why they got rid of this. This was one of the best parts of the show.
