The point that she has released, decent music.She's contributed decent music to the pop industry, therefore it doesn't matter where it's posted.

Anybody can release decent AUTO TUNED music. She doesn't write songs in fact she doesn't even sing them (without the aid of a machine), she can't play any instruments, what exactly is her contribution to the music industry?
The way I see it
If the thread is about Cheryl Cole's music (her solo albums, stuff with Girls Aloud etc), then it should be in the music forum.
If it's about her appearences on X Factor, then it should be in the X Factor forum.
For the record, can't stand her, can't stand Girls Aloud, can't stand X Factor.

erm, weren't GA like one of the most succesful Girl Bands in the UK of the last decade?!?!? and isn't Cheryl PART of the lineup! also didn't she release 3 songs last year and collaborate with MUSIC producers and a triple platinum album!
doesn't she have her SECOND album out this week?? and by album i mean MUSIC album! and isn';t she releasing a ballad soon?!?!
look i cannot deal with a lot of the stabbing on these forums when it comes to Cheryl! i mean seriosuly i am not a fan of Gaga that much but i don't create a forum saying WHY are they in the music forums
in fact i am shocked at the idea.many use AUTO TUNE and i have no problem with that, it's slick when used PROPERLY (Cheryl however i feel is very mixed bag with it as a total reliance or for just effect) Elvis didn't write his own songs...don't think you wanna take that on!

Agree and there are and have been worse crimes in Pop Music.
Maybe what we need is a chart thread as mostly that isnt music either

She has not contributed anything personally to the music industry. It's the people behind the scenes who have produced her 'music' and it's highly questionable as to whether those people have contributed to music.
I'm not quite sure how releasing a ballad contributes to her integrity in any way whatsoever. As a popstar Gaga has far more integrity than Cheryl.
Autotune used to add the 'effect' of a track is fine. Personally, I don't think it proves anything musically, especially when acts like Cole use it to disguise the weakness of their singing voice. You only have to watch her 'performance' on X Factor on Sunday to hear this. And dear, Elvis had more talent and charisma in his sh*t than Cheryl will ever possess.

I broadly agree, but while she might not release particularly progressive music, or in my oppinion particularly good music its still music.
While I have sympathy with the op and other people not wanting to read about or listen to cheryl cole, there are people equally who feel the same about my favourite singers and bands.
As long as she continues to release music she has a place on the music forum, the quality of that music is utterly subjective. Any attempt to say who should and should be included in a music forum on that basis would be futile.
